'Lady's Secret

'Lady' and Hudson. Once again all fics with

***The night before the attack***
'Lady' watched her mate soar off with Goliath.
She wished they had spoken, but she knew her
mate well enough. With something on his mind,
he was determined to get it off, and this was no
exception.
Before Hudson left, she witnessed Goliath send
her brothers down to the rookery. It shocked her.
They had not prevoked a fight. It was the woman,
although she understood however. She was protecting
her child, her offspring.
'Lady' figured it was only a few more hours before
sunrise. What kept him?
'Lady' was startled by a woman's voice. Her rookery
sister, a greenish color with two small horns and long
blonde hair sat next to her.
"What is on your mind, sister?" the gargoyle asked.
'Lady' smiled to her.
"I miss my love, is all." she said.
The green gargoyle laughed, "He is here somewhere."
'Lady' pointed away from the castle twords the forest,
"He followed Goliath somewhere, and I am not sure
when he'll return."
The gargoyle patted her back, "But he will be. I swear,
my friend, you have become his shawdow. Ever since
you took him as your mate, you practically speak of nothing
else."
'Lady' smiled to her. She was right. It had been almost
2 years since she and Hudson become mates. And that was
one of the most joyus moments of her life. They had shared
so much since than. He told her of his first mate, and how she
had died at the hands of an evil sourcerer, along with their
2 brothers and sister. 'Lady' knew he always felt a pang in
his heart for not being there when his mate and memebers
of their clan were slaughtered through magic. Back than
'Lady' was a young Gargoyle, and hadn't seen him as mate.
At that time she felt he wasn't right for her. But she helped him
cope, and it was through that they bonded, and 4 years after
that they were officially mates.
'Lady' said good-bye to her sister and lept from the castle. She
soared to the cliff behind it, watching the wave crash against
the rocks below. 'Lady' wrapped her wings around her body
and inhalded the salt water scent.
She didn't know quite how to tell him. This was an important
matter to them both. Although the ways of their clan, that all
offspring of the Gargoyles belonged to all of them, she and
her mate had an egg in the rookery that would hatch soon.
She had kept this hidden from him, since he laid it down
that he was 'too old'. But he wasn't.
'Lady' turned from the cliff and walked back to the castle. The
sun was due to rise in an hour and she needed to be back
in the saftey of the caslte. She laughed to herself when she
thought of when Hudson scolded her for not being in the
castle walls during day. 'Lady' figured he would not return
before dawn.
'Lady' decided to tell him tonight. 'Tonight', she thought, 'He
will know tonight.'

**sniffle** tissue?! I know these are short, but they are short
stories, and I do think I will make a series of 'Lady' and Hudson
fics!
