Grumio and Juliette
-A short, epic, Latin Romance-
Caecilius goes to the harbor. Caecilius is looking for a slave.
"Salve!" Caecilius greets the slave dealer.
"Salve!" Syphax responds. "Are you looking for a slave?"
"I am looking for a slave," says Caecilius.
"Here is a slave," says Syphax. Syphax shows Cecilius a big slave. Caecilius is not satisfied. "Here is another slave," says Syphax. Syphax shows Caecilius another slave. She is beautiful.
"This is Juliette," says Syphax. "Juliette is beautiful and smart, speaks Latin, and cooks well." Juliette smiles at Caecilius. Caecilius buys Juliette.
Two days later, after orientation with Caecilius' home, Juliette staggers under the weight of the heavy buckets of water she carries, one in each hand. Before she enters the kitchen, she faints from exhaustion. Consequently, the water is spilled.
"Pestis! Furcifer!" exclaims Metella, and promptly orders Juliette to be whipped. The ugly Metella watches with much satisfaction as Juliette is whipped.
Grumio hears a series of screams as he serenely works in the kitchen. He rushes outside to see Juliette being whipped. In a sudden surge of fury at seeing his crush being whipped, Grumio rushes forward and grasps the throat of the person holding the whip. Soon the body is limp in his hands. Juliette is free.
"My dearest Juliette," says Grumio.
"Oh Grumio," says Juliette. She wraps her arms around his neck and kisses him sweetly. Grumio returns it, caressing her waist.
"Let us go," says Grumio. "Let us leave this abuse and slavery and go live over the hills and far away."
Thus, they lived happily ever after.
