On the planet Corucant,our heroes at the Jedi Temple start their plan to hit the separatist where it will hurt them the most; The planet! Dantooine. "The droids have dug in and set up strong positions in the city" Commander Bly points out in his deep clear cut voice.
"Yes, but if we use the tunnels that lead out into the rivers we can sneak in undetected and blast them from the inside," Captain Rex quickly offers as another option to minimize deaths within the clones ranks.
"Both are ways we could use, but I think Captain Rex has the right idea," Master Obi-wan says in agreement. "If we get inside the city the separatists won't know what hit them and we limit our losses."
On their way toDantooine thru hyperspace, with 3 republic cruisers and crews of men, they prepare for the long assault that is about to ensue. Gathering their gear and weapons, the clones made their way to the gunships. Master Obi-wan is to lead the way in his gunship and behind him Commander Bly and Captain Rex in separate gunships.
As the cruisers come out of hyperspace and start entering Dantoonie's atmosphere,sirens in the landing bay start whaling to alert everyone to prepare for takeoff. "Time to get this party started," Master Obi-wan calmly says over the intercom when he sees the green light flash.
"Let's just hope we arrive there alive to enjoy it," Rex replies with doubt in his voice. As the gunships start their decent to the planet, separatist cannons start opening fire on the incoming invaders.
On the planet's surface the noise of separatist cannons could be heard miles away from their point of origin. The Droids stand their ground in the fortified city and watch the Republic gunships fall from the sky,some crashing in piles of smoke and others landing safely on the other side of the woods. "Hold steady… your positions," the Tactical Droid commanded in his dull robotic voice. "Send out… Probe Droids…to spy on their… positions."
"Roger roger" a battle droid reply's as all do when given a command.
As the gunships land clones pile out into formation in front of the tunnel entrance. "Are the men in position?" Obi-wan asks while running to the tunnel where his troops await his command.
"Yes sir! We are a go!" Rex yells, running down the tunnel his men were assigned.
As the clones swiftly rush through the tunnels towards the city the separatist cannons start sending screaming rockets to where the clones had once landed unaware of the army beneath their feet. "Do… we have any… confirmed hits… on those clones… and has the… probe droid… reported in yet?" the tactical droid demands.
"Umm.. no si….." the battle droid fails to complete his sentence as the sound of blaster-fire rings out and the droid falls to the ground,
"Clones!" multiple battle droids yell, as blue lasers fly all around them from the clone blasters.
"Fire, fire back, at them, and send droids to protect the containers," the robot commands with no sign of distress.
As lasers fly from both sides, Obi-wan runs around deflecting bullets and slicing droids in two, whilehis clones and their commanders take over the city with minimal casualties.
"Great job men, we took the city and supplies that the separatists badly needed," Obi-wan conclude while praising his men.
"Look what we found, sir!" Bly exclaims while lifting the lid of one of the separatist's containers. Inside was gold and diamonds and other valuables stolen from other planets as well as Dantoonie.
"We will send these back to its rightful owners," Master Obi-wan announces to the disappointment of the clones.
