Chapter #1 of a BADE thing. Chapter #1 is just a little walk on the beach. I do not own victorious.
"Beck, wait!" Jade pleads as she trips and her boyfriend stops and runs back to her.
"Jade, what happened?" He asked, running to her.
"I…I…twisted my ankle."
"Let me help…you…"
"Ha!" She screams like it was so funny.
"Jade, you did scare me, you know!"
"Hey, you should have seen yourself!"
"Anyways, why so happy, Jade?" He asked curiously.
She didn't answer. Instead, she stepped up and he followed her. She told him she was happy for a lot of things. Her younger brother, Kenny, was coming to visit from boarding school, since he wasn't on break when Jodi (Mom) died a few months back. Also, that her little cousin, Caitlyn, with leukemia, just got out of the hospital. And that they were doing "The Last Song", as the final play of the 10th grade.
"Beck, can you please audition for the part of "Will"?" Jade pleaded.
"What is the play about?" He asked."
"Beck, the play is about a 17 year-old girl, Ronnie, whose mom makes her and her little brother go spend the summer with her dad."
"And who's Will then?"
"The boy that spills Ronnie's soda on her as an accident on Ronnie's first day there, and who then falls in love with Ronnie, and then they end up loving each other more than they thought they would."
"Sounds good then" He said kind of bored.
"No, no, you don't get it! I read the book and Will had a girlfriend before Ronnie who was "miss perfection" and Will says that he falls for Ronnie, a rebellious, dark girl because she is "different" from other girls, stating that she has a purple streak in her hair and a bad attitude with her dad and all those things. Would you happen to guess a couple who happens to be just like that? Like, nobody gets why he is with her but he actually loves her for her inside, not for just her outside?"
"I know Jade. We can relate to this play." He said, kind of getting it.
"Exactly, so will you do it?" She asked excitedly.
"Yes, Jade." You know, Jade, this is the only play they have done that we can relate to, so it will be a good chance." Beck said.
"Race you to the big sand dune over there, okay?" She asked.
"Okay, on your mark, get set, GO!" He screams.
They ran and ran, and of course, Beck won, but by a little bit more than 5 seconds. "Ha, Jadey, I won!" He teased and gave Jade a piggy-back ride to the car. Jade's eyes watered when he said "Jadey". He hadn't said that nickname to her since they were running alone at night on this exact same beach 2 years ago, before starting to date. While giving the ride, he noticed Jade was feeling kind of dizzy and weak.
In the car, she remained silent. He looked at her every five seconds to make sure she hadn't passed out yet. "How is she so quiet if she has been happy all night?" He wondered this quietly. Had she really hurt her ankle? He just couldn't guess what was wrong. He asked her at least 10 times, but no answer on her part. She had a hand on her head the whole ride.
This was not normal unless… "No, no, no, this can't be… it's only early May. She couldn't be getting a headache. Her hydrocephalus! This time it was real!" He thought of those thoughts all night after dropping her off at her house. She had hydrocephalus. And he can't do anything about the fact that this is the first time since she was born that she would have this happen to her. He knew it would be painful. His cousin, Harry, had it and 3 years ago, he died while they did the surgery. "This can't happen to my Jade!" He screams and throws his phone to the wall. It broke, but it didn't matter. His girlfriend might die and he knew it.
