A Christmas story.
I was sitting on a couch in Gryffendors living room in front of the fireplace, watching the flames merrily dancing. It's about time that I tell a little bit about myself; my name is Lily Evans and I'm 17 years old. I study at HogwartsSchool of Witchcraft and Wizardry at my 7th year and I'm a nominated Head Girl. I received the letter, which told me that I'm a witch, when I was eleven years old. Before that happened, my sister Petunia, who is one year older than me, and I were the best of friends, but now she thinks that I'm a freak, and hardly talks to me anymore.
It was Christmas eve and most of the students had left for home to celebrate Christmas with their parents. I didn't leave this year. I got a letter from home which told me that Petunia's boyfriend were going to be there too, and he hates me even more than Petunia does.
I heard the portrait hole open and looked in that direction. In came two boys. It was James Potter and Sirius Black. There group, the Marauders, were the biggest troublemakers at school, but never the less James was selected as Headboy. They were also the most popular boys.
James Potter asked me out on a date for the first time in our third year. I turned him down. Since then he has asked me out every day, but I never said yes. I think he is a jerk.
I saw Sirius say something to James but it wasn't loud enough for me to hear what he said. Afterwards Sirius went up the stairs to the boy's dorm, with a smirk on his face. James came towards me. Oh no, I thought, this isn't good.
"Hey Evans." He said.
"What do you want Potter?" I snapped back.
"I just want to ask…" He started but I cut him off; "No, Potter, I won't go out with you!"
"Well, I actually wanted to ask you whether you wanted to plan the night rounds for the prefects now, I don't have anything better to do right now anyway." He said with one eyebrow lifted.
"Oh… I suppose so… Sorry." I answered, I felt embarrassed and felt my cheeks blushing.
When we were done it was getting very late, and I were feeling tired. "I'm off to bed now, see you tomorrow." I said.
He nodded his head as an answer, while he was looking at something in his hand.
I started walking towards the stairs, until stopped by the sound of his voice;
"Lily?" He had never called me Lily before… It was always Evans or some nickname.
"Yes?" I responded and turned around… He had gotten up from the chair.
"Good night" He said and sent me a smile… Not one of his usual smirks, but a genuine smile.
"Goodnight James." I said and smiled back at him. I turned and started to walk, but once again I was stopped.
"And Lily?"
"Yes?" I answered and turned to face him.
"Merry Christmas." He said.
"Marry Christmas to you too." I responded.
I were about to walk on, when he spoke to me again;
"And Lily?"
"What?" I said in a hard tone, this was becoming annoying.
"Look up" He said with a teasing look in his eyes.
I looked up and gasped. Right above my head hang a mistletoe. I looked at James and noticed he was coming very close to me – To close. I had no idea what to do. I didn't have time to think any further, because at that time I felt his soft lips pressed against mine. To both of our big surprise, I kissed him back.
When we pulled away from each other, his face lit up in a big smile. He hugged me in a kind of hesitating way and whispered: "And Lily?"
"Yes James?" I whispered back.
"Will you go out with me?"
