sigh in contentment as i step out into the sunlight. I'm now regestered here at Duel Academy or at least i will be if i can manage to pass the practice tornament tomorrow. I'm sure I can manage if I believe in my cards. I've never dueled, not a proper duel anyway. But i trust my deck. This deck that my adoptive father bought. This cost him his life to get to me. To protect not only the target here in Duel Academy but my friend.

"Hey. You're the new kids right?" Came a voice from behind me. I turned to see a short blue haired boy with glasses.

"Yes, that's 's Jordan but you can call me Jay Jay." I say and smile.

"Syrus, Syrus Trusdale. I was asked to show you to the Slyfer dorm.

"It's good to meet you" I say and follow him to the dorms.

"So why did you pick the Slyfer dorm? You were given the choice to stay anywhere tonight right?" Syrus asks.

"Well my father was a Slyfer so i only thought if fitting for me to be as well" I say simply, not wanting to go into more into it.

"Oh wow. That's so cool! Who's your father? Is he a pro?" Syrus asks. He looked like he was going to explode with curiousity.

"Uh well sort of. He did graduate but i don't think he ever did much dueling after that though. Ofcorse i wouldn't really know. I wasn't raised by my parents. I was raised by a friend of the family. Don't know my parents." I say then stop myself when i relaize im rambling.

"Oh I see. That's kinda sad. What happend to them? Your parents i mean." He asks.

"No one knows" I say simoly and walk into the dorm.

"oh right sorry if im prying to much" He says as he follows me into the room. "I know it's small but It's what we've got. You'll have the top bunk."

"No it's alright. I don't mind the small room and I dont so much mind the questions. My fathr just isnt the best topic for me," I say and give a half hearted smile. It wasn't a lie but not really fully the truth. I'd have gladly spoken my mind if not for the whole rule saying i can only reveal who i am if im questioned on it.

"Hm...Wonder where Jaden is? He was supposed to meet us here..." Syrus says in thought.

Just then the door to the dorm bursts open and in steps a boy, roughly 15 years of age with shaggy brown hair. "Hey sorry i'm late. Kinda got hung up"

"No no it's alright. Your Jaden i assume?" I ask. Ofcorse i kinda already knew this, him being the one i've gone back to protect.

"Yep Jaden Yuki. It's good to meet you..."

"Jordan J. Tyson. You can call me Jay Jay though."

"Well it's a pleasure to meet you Jay Jay. Never would have thought we'd get a new memeber in the dorm."

"Depends on how i do tomorrow if i get to stay or not"

"Oh that's right. Crowler in planning to let you join the tornament tomorrow to test your skills before inrollment." Syrus says, i just nod.

"Well im sure you'll pass. I mean you look like a capable guy. So Welcome to Duel Academy Jay Jay. I'm sure your gonna love it here" Jaden says cheerily.

I couldnt help the small smile that graced my lips. Just like Mr. T said. Just being around this goof could make someone smile.
