(Takes place just as Karofsky reveals that he was the secret admirer)

"It… it was you," Kurt whispered as Dave Karofsky stood in front of him, smiling shyly. "You're my secret admirer?"

Dave nodded. "All this time. Always." He sat down next to the smaller boy and said quietly, "I'm ready to come out, Kurt. I know I've been awful to you… I know I don't deserve you, or a chance. I know you have Blaine. But… I think I'm in love with you. I have been since the day I met you, freshman year. Since I watched Jonas, or whatever his name was, shove you into a locker, and you just smiled and kept walking. I loved that smile, Kurt. I love it. I want to make you smile like that." He paused for a moment, trying to process the shocked look on Kurt's face.

"But I feel like I never have. All I did was hurt you because I was scared of the fact that… that I loved you. Kurt, just give me a chance. Just one more chance. I'm ready to come out. I'm going to tell my dad…" He trailed off. "Kurt, are you listening?"

"I just… how can it be you?" Kurt whispered. "I don't even know what to say… how to feel… David, you… I don't know… you've messed with me and hurt me and still I feel like you… I don't know." Kurt sat in silence for a moment before he placed his hand on the table.

"I expected this, I mean, come on, I fucked up pretty badly," Dave said calmly. "But I think… I would be really happy if I could have just one chance." As he spoke, he slowly placed his hand on Kurt's.

Electricity coursed through them, causing Kurt to jerk his hand away.

"I… I think I need to go," Kurt said, deliberately and slowly. "I need to go think."

"But, Kurt, please, it's Valentine's Day! Please don't go…"

His phrase was cut off by the softest press of Kurt's lips against his. The kiss was over just as suddenly as it had began.

Kurt turned heel and ran out of Breadsticks, tears flowing down his face. He didn't even hear Dave shouting his name as he left.

(So, more, or not?)
