Pairing: Johnlock

Sherlock brought out coffee for the two of them as John read the paper. Sherlock didn't say a word as he left the cup of coffee for John on the small table in front of him. John moved the paper away from his view, to see his flat mate sitting at his laptop and sipping coffee. John picked up his coffee and sipped it, then promptly went back to reading the paper.

Only a minute in he realized something, well, two somethings. Sherlock hadn't made a smart ass comment, or even say a word all morning. He also had been, nice, recently. Nice? Was that even possible for Sherlock? It's not like he was apologizing for anything. That was the only reason for Sherlock to be any degree of nice. John decided not to say anything because this may never happen again.

Sherlock called to his flat mate quietly, "John?" John settled down the paper into his lap again and looked to Sherlock, "Yes?" "Have you bothered to check your blog recently?" Sherlock asked. "No not recently, no. We really haven't had a case so I haven't had means to update it. Why?" answered John. "Just curious." Sherlock replied, and then went back to what he was doing.

John went back to the paper and sighed. He never knew what was going on in that sort of brain that's "Sherlock's brain." John sipped his coffee again and wondered why Sherlock was acting so strange. Then again, who would ever be able to figure that out? It's not like he's readable like everyone else is to him, and it wasn't like he left signs in his room.

As John turned the page in his paper he heard the laptop close shut. John heard the chair Sherlock was sitting I'm be pushed over. After a moment of silence, John got his paper pried from his hands. Before he could say a word his flat mate's face was in his own. "Sherlock what are you-" before John could finish his question, Sherlock's lips were pressed against his. John felt heat suddenly rush to his face. He didn't want to admit it but he was rather enjoying this. Before John could really get into the kiss himself, they both heard a familiar voice coming closer from another room. "Boys?" It was Mrs. Hudson! The boys shivered and moved away from one another as Mrs. Hudson walked into the room. "You boys have been awful quiet this morning." she said to them. John was pretending to read the paper and Sherlock sipped his coffee pretending to be thinking as he stared out the window.

As soon as she left, Sherlock sat down on the couch, putting his coffee on the table. John closed his paper and put it on the arm of the chair. He got up and sat next to Sherlock, only leaving a couple inches of space between them. John looked to Sherlock, who seemed full of anxiety and withdrawal. He sighed and moved a little closer to Sherlock. Who rested his head slowly on John's shoulder.
