Never Land
I leave the
Earth behind—
The daily schedule,
Streets lined with traffic,
Decisions to be made—
And fly through misty clouds
Past a pearly changing moon
Moving closer to that star—
A tiny sphere of light
That becomes
A silvery paintbrush
Etching crystal castles,
Streets of rainbow that
Glitter like frost
Pirate ships with billowing
Sails upon
Misty, sapphire seas—
A Neverland
Where I can play
There are others like
Me here:
Writers, artists, poets—
All of us
In our own world
Of eternal
Make-believe
Eternal youth
