it's a shame you don't know what you're running from

would your bones have to break and your lights turn off?

would it take the end of time to hear your heart's false start?

you know this is your biggest mistake

"Hello Draco." Astoria's voice is hesitant.

He looks up. "What are you doing here?"

"Your mother let me in. We need to talk. We haven't for weeks." She sits down on one of the armchairs in the Malfoy's spacious library.

Draco turns his head away from her. "We don't need to talk."

"Yes. We do."

He doesn't answer. At this moment, everything about Astoria is absolutely infuriating him. Her soft, gentle voice, her pale skin, her sad hazel eyes.

"Draco? What if I told you I was pregnant?" She puts a small hand on his arm.

Draco shakes it off angrily and stands up. He won't believe it. He can't. "No." He shakes his head. "No!"

"We'll work something out." She gazes at him pleadingly. "We will."

"No! No, Astoria, we won't! See this?" He strides over and, pulling up his shirtsleeve, shows her the faint outline of the Dark Mark on his arm. „No child is going to want a father with...this! No one! I'm not...I'm not a normal...a good person! Why must you always be so unbelievably trusting and stupid?"

He expects Astoria to flinch, to recoil, but she just stares at him with that heartbroken expression on her face. Tears fill her eyes and she opens her mouth, but Draco doesn't want to hear what she has to say.

"Out", he says roughly. Astoria stands and walks silently to the door, tears pouring down her cheeks. Draco follows her.

On the doorstep, she pauses and looks at him. "You're going to regret this, Draco, you know"she says quietly.

He does even before he slams the door in her face.
