Rose sat on the chair in the console room, fiddling with some spare contraption that the Doctor had given her. It was a weird sort of thing...round and shiny, and it projected little stars from a small lens on the front which she could only see when it was totally dark. She had asked him what it was made from but he had just winked and tapped his nose secretively. He had given it to her because she was bored and a little bit down from Mickey leaving so suddenly and it had cheered her up greatly.

It was funny how he always seemed to know how she was feeling and always seemed to know how to cheer her up. They always knew what the other was going to say before they even opened their mouths.

She needed him, and him her. His smiles always seemed to make her melt slowly from the inside out

She also knew that he would never leave her, he'd said it himself when they had met Sarah-Jane, although they both knew that it couldn't last forever, he'd said that too, told her that she would wither and die

He was amazing at that, never letting her fall, physically or mentally. Mentally, as soon as Mickey had left, she'd been distraught, but he was there for her, had held her while she cried her eyes out. Physically, he always caught her if she tripped or fell. She couldn't remember the last time she'd actually landed harshly on the ground.

She always felt warm and safe in his arms and for that reason she loved to find any excuse to hug him or hold his hand, and she was sure that he did the same. She didn't care what people said to them or thought of them, she loved him and that was that!

If they didn't have each other, they would be lost. Rose didn't know what she would do without her Doctor, if she was separated from him she didn't know if she could go on and frankly, she didn't like to think about it. They needed each other, and they both knew it.
