PROLOGUE
Aislinn wept. All around her, the summer girls tried to console their queen about a matter they daren't discuss in her presence. Siobhan shook with rage against the no-longer-mortal Seth. How dare he be so selfish as to do this to my queen? She thought, this has trulybroken her heart beyond natural repair. I must do something to put a stop to this tirade once and for all. Drawing in a breath, she turned, striding out of the room. The Rowan guards were standing to attention just outside Ash's' door. She pointed at the closest two, motioning them over into a corner away from prying ears. She spoke without delay,
"Can I trust you with... confidential information?" they looked confused, but nodded. "Good. We need to do something about Aislinn's mor- Seth. He is no longer mortal, as we were all well aware. Ash was not, but for good reasons." She stopped to gauge their understanding. From their faces, she guessed they had none, so she elaborated for their benefit,
"we need to find a way of either ridding Seth of his immortality in order for us to get him to move on, or..." she trailed off.
"Or...?"
"Or... we find a way of getting Aislinn to forgive Keenan, giving him a chance; therefore forgetting Seth, and saving the Summer Court. You know I would be unable to say this if it was a lie" the Rowan men were silent for a while, but finally one spoke up.
"Siobhan, you realise this could bring up certain implications that could damage our court!"
"I know," she said heavily, "but it may do that if we don't do anything to help." They looked at each other, and replied as one,
"What do you need us to do?"
