Here's a diary entry that Severus Snape wrote one night. It just sort of came to me one night and I hope that you all enjoy it!

Snape's Midnight Confession

I am naught but a black soul. I am yearning to break free of my bonds, and become a free man again. My dark master has regained his grip on me and now I am forced to hurt the ones I love.
For so long have I resisted his power, I thought I had gotten away, but now it is too clear that I cannot keep the evil around me. I must banish it back to the pit in Hell that it came from.
I must stand and fight. I must release myself from his power. I will overcome his treachery and save myself. My companions know naught of my troubles, and it should stay that way. They need not burden themselves with the demons I must fight alone.
That young Potter seems to possess something different from the rest of us. He has overcome so much for his young age, and could possibly be an ally to me in my time of need. My dark master seems to fear what might become of him if Potter shall defeat him.
I agree that Potter is determined and strong willed, but he cannot defeat He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named alone. He shall need aid. Albus is the one person he fears. If Albus were to aid Potter, then perhaps he shall be defeated. But even still . . .
They need more people. Granger, much to my dismay, is a brilliant mind and can do many things I cannot. And Weasley, that buffoon, seems to be able to help that Potter in his time of need as well. They will be needed in the final battle between Potter and Voldemort. And perhaps, the world will get lucky and good will prevail over evil.
In the end, I hope to aid good and defeat my dark master. Hopefully I can overcome my darkness and see the light . . .
