PJ stared at her bandaged hands as the bus lurched to a stop. One of many that would occur before she reached her temporary destination of Pine Valley. "Great" she thought to herself. "More freaking scars. At least were self-inflicted and they would heal eventually. Not like the ones inflicted by her father all those years ago or the more recent ones inflicted by Mario. The ones that landed her in her newest version of hell. She purposely slammed her damaged wrists against her wheelchair relishing in the pain despite the tears it caused. She was in control dammit. No one was ever going to hurt her ever again except...herself.
The driver did a walk through. "Do you want me to undo the tie downs on your chair Miss? We're going to be here awhile. You might get out and..."
"What? Stretch my legs?" she snapped. "Is that what you were going to say? Get the hell away from me. I don't need you. I don't need anyone.
Jamie Martin heard a woman in the bus screaming at someone. She sounded pissed but he also heard and undcurrent of pain. Four years away from his Dad hadn't stripped of the need to be a gentleman. Even after what happened with Babe he would not let a woman be hurt, no matter what. He flew up the stairs of the bus. When he saw who was yelling at the bus driver. He stopped short. Then he smiled. "Pandora Mc Roy?"
The driver looked at Jamie. His eyes pleading. Jamie nodded and the driver left the bus like the hounds of hell were chasing him. PJ looked up to see who dared use her given name. She almost choked. He saw her now. Like this. Someone up there must really hate her. She crossed her arms in a lame attempt to hide her wrists. "Dr. Martin?"
