First fic in millennia! Owh, I know I still have that Ib fanfic to wrap up, it's been over a year now, so sorry to anyone who enjoyed it, because I still haven't finished! I have no excuses really, I've just avoided finishing it because of lack of motivation, but it was a commitment and I do mean to get it done :
Anyway, here's my first SnK fic, I'm really just writing drabbles and stuff to practise my writing, kind of in conjunction with NaNoWriMo too. MinaxMarco is my OTP, no listen to me it works, but ship it or not, I hope you enjoy the fic!

"Ack." Mina winced as she prodded her arm. "That was not a good training session."
Marco, who lay on the grass back to back with her, looked over his shoulder. "Oh? What happened?"
A stifled giggle betrayed her embarrassment, and she lifted her hand to cover her face. "3D maneuver gear training. Samuel was closing in on the Titan dummy from the other direction, and I flew smack into him," she laughed. Then she winced again. Marco raised an eyebrow, part concern, part curiosity. He turned, so that he was now facing her in full. "Mind if I take a look?"
"Hmm? Oh, sure." Was it the shadow cast on his face distorting it, or did she see that much worry in his eyes? She didn't hide her surprise, but complied anyway, pulling her left arm out of the jacket and rolling up the sleeve of her top. Now it was Marco's turn to wince; angry red splotches ran along her arm's entire length, even redder, bathed in the sunlight as it was.
Mina grimaced. "Yep. Ouch. It's like that on my side too." Then her arm disappeared into her jacket sleeve, and she turned and tilted her head to look at the sky, a little too quickly.
The sky, sun kissed and doused in violet. Watch the puffball clouds, floating, light, slow like the time rarely was; usually it preferred to dive into the next day. Time spent with a friend, or maybe more than a friend.
They were a year and a half into training now, the days flying by like nothing. A year and a half was more than enough for friendships to settle, and closer relationships to blossom. Mina and Marco did enjoy sharing stories, but up until then it hadn't been any more than good friends did.
"So...what about you?" Break the silence, though silence was in itself a different kind of sweetness.
"Today wasn't my lucky day either...I think my wrist is one hand-to-hand combat session with Eren away from snapping off." Raising his right arm, he rotated his wrist to show her how awkwardly it turned. "He's gotten so good ever since Annie started giving him lessons, she must be amazing."
Mina nodded; Annie had relented and taught her a few moves herself, how a smaller girl could easily overpower a man, by using his strength to his disadvantage. The stronger you are, the less you protect your weak spots. Training was more than physical, however; the moves stemmed from the mentality.
Almost without meaning to, almost, she reached for his wrist and held it as lightly as she could, examining it closer.
A touch light as a breeze, but firm. Warmth seeping, from the sun, from her fingertips, into his skin, his face. Did the glare hide the glow that was rising in his cheeks, or did it enhance it?
"Yup, definitely a classic Annie move." She didn't let go immediately, but rather lowered his wrist gently, allowing it to drop from her fingertips. Her eyes watched the motion before flicking back up. Murky blue met amber, pools of light not entirely different from the sunlight that both illuminated and darkened, stark shadows cast along the contours of them and their surroundings.
Slowly, gazes never leaving, their hands met again, this time allowing their fingers to slide across the other's.
They held them, just for a moment more, timeless.
*Edit 2/12/14: Owh, so I haven't checked my fanfiction account in millenia. Oops. THANK YOU everyone who faved/followed/reviewed. And to answer whether I might continue this: maybe? This was really meant to be a one-shot, and back then no other fic ideas or prompts came to me, so I left it at that. Plus now though I still love MinaMarco, snk's kinda gone for me. But like I said, I still love them, so no promises but I might just write something if it comes to me (and if I'm lucky enough to have some free time lying around..)
