Friends, Families, Readers, welcome to the Regular Show Veterans Day Special.
This story is dedicated to the people who fought and survive the wars, for their countries.
Lets begin.
Veterans
Today was a peaceful day at the park. But, it was also special. Today was Veterans Day. And one person had one special job to do.
And that person was a human man, named Richard Phillips. He had the job to raise the U.S. Flag.
When he was done he walked several steps away, so he can look up and see the flag, blowing from the wind.
He saluted and said:
I Pledge Allegiance, to the Flag,
of the United States of America,
and to the Republic, for which it stands,
one nation, under God,
Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.
He puts his hand back down and into his pocket.
He pulls out a picture of his young grandfather. His grandpa fought in WW2. He fought in all theathers of the war: Africa, Europe, and the Pacific. He survived all of them, but he wasnt around anymore, today. He died several years back.
(A/N: Next four paragraphs are all true.)
In his family, there were no other veterans. But, there were more in his wife's side of the family. Richard's father-in-law was a medic during the Korean War. He was 17 when he was drafted into the army.
Richard's grandfather-in-law also fought in WW2. But, there was not much about him. He also wasn't around anymore. He died before his children were born.
Richard's brother-in-law, George, fought in 'Nam (also known as Vietnam). He's still around today, but he doesn't want to talk about what happen there. Why? Because, he was in combat, before.
The last veteran Richard knew in his wife's side, was his children's cousin, Christopher. He fought in Iraq, in the army. Richard didn't know what unit he was in, but he knew one story about Christopher. It was during a day off. Christopher was working out in the base's gym, as usual. About 5 mins after he left, a bomb was thrown into gym. If Christopher had stay in there longer, he would've been killed.
That's all Richard knew about his veterans. He put his picture of his grandpa back in his pocket, and walks away from the flag. Just as he was walking away, the U.S. Flag was still blowing from the wind.
On the eleventh hour, of the eleventh day, of the eleventh month, the fighting ends.
The End
That is all. Have a happy Veterans Day, everyone!
