Metro 2033
Chapter 1: A Proposition
Akim woke and sat up on his bed. He took a deep breath then exhaled. He heard a knock at the door of his small room.
"Akim!" A voice said "You have a letter!" Akim stood and walked to the door.
"Slide it under the door." Akim responded. An envelope came from under the door. Akim bent down to grab it. He stood back up then opened the envelope. It said:
Akim,
Meet me in the bar at 10:30 am.

Akim walked over to his dresser and grabbed his watch. The time was 10:00 am. Akim got dressed and headed out the door to the metro. He saw his friend Feofil waiting for him.
"Akim, you lazy ass, I've been waiting for you for three hours." Feofil joked.
"Good old Feofil, just like you were when we were kids." Akim announced.
"Well Akim what did you wan't to do today?"
"I have something to do in 30 minutes, so, I can't do much right now, but maybe later I could do something."
"Alright sounnds good." Akim walked in the opposite direction of Feofil. Akim assumed Feofil was going to take a nap. Akim arrived at the bar and found Anton.
"Akim over here, sit, sit. I have something to talk to you about." Anton commanded. Akim walked over to the table Anton was at. Akim pulled a chair out and sat down.
"So, what did you want to talk about?" Akim asked.
"I have a proposition for you, an important customer of mine asked me to go to the surface and find a book for him, and he's willing to pay a large sum of military grade ammo." Anton told Akim.
"The surface...are you insane!"
"That's not the end of it... I'm afraid of going up to the surface myself so I wan't you to go with me."
"Me, go to the surface, I can't do that I don't even own a gasmask or a gun!"
"Don't worry I've got that covered." Anton set a revolver and a gasmask on the table. "Plus you'll get 100 military grade rounds. So what do you say."
"It's a tough choice... but alright I need the rounds."
"Good, we need to leave immediately, he wants the book today." Akim and Anton walked to the gate to the surface. The guards opened the gate and just as a small crack opened in the gate a beam of the sun's light shone on Akim and Anton. They squinted and put their arms infront of their eyes.
