Okay, so I just had the urge to write more on this. This is a really, really short sequel to Hope. I was actually thinking of writing one more after this about them getting the cure if anyone's interested.

Don't own anything.

"You're giving up." Max glared at Logan. "You're not even looking anymore!" She was a little bit pissed off. After her big epiphany, she had been expecting Logan to agree with her, not to give up himself.

They had been looking, of course but Logan was getting even more distance than before. The irrational jealousy that he harbored towards her and Alec irritated her as well. He never said anything, never accused her of anything but she knew it was there.

She knew it was just frustration over not finding anything. Also, she knew that it didn't help that she could touch Alec without killing him and her and Alec had gotten closer.

She did not see Alec that way. If anything Alec was becoming more and more like family to her. A sibling that irritated her at times but she still felt responsible for. Someone she knew would be there when she needed him and would never hesitate to mock her. Just like a little brother.

She understood it. After all, she felt the same way about Logan and Asha before. And it was just frustration from not being able to be close to him anymore.

"Look, Max," he said now, bringing her out her thoughts. "I know that you had this epiphany about us but I don't want you to hang all your hopes on it. I mean, I've been thinking. It's been a long time, Max." Max narrowed her eyes for a moment, staring into his.

"You idiot." She growled after a moment. He was actually trying to protect her. He didn't think he was going to find anything but he wasn't going to give up. He didn't want to get her hopes up for nothing.

She shook her head. He didn't understand. She needed the hope. Besides, she knew now that they would find the cure. Now all she had to do was convince Logan.

"Get up." Max said calmly, starting towards the door.

"Max..." She held up a hand turning back to him briefly.

"Follow me." She didn't turn again but she knew he was following. They stood on the railing above the command center and she smiled at the sight below. Alec was there. He hadn't noticed them, he was too busy arguing with a tall X-5 with long dark hair. Max could see it there, even though they were fighting.

"Her names Haley." She said after a moment, glancing over at Logan. She smiled a little wider when she glanced back at the two below. It didn't matter that the girl wasn't auburn.

What happened in the end of her dream didn't matter because she could stop that. She would help Alec, make sure he didn't make the same mistakes she had and she would find the cure. She knew it. She and Logan were destined.
