Late night emergency work made Akane strung out, rise of criminal cases mostly took place during the night, but she didn't mind. Afterall, she's come to love the purpose of her job.
The unforgiving night breeze made the brunette remember her first encounter on a criminal case; She was dashing through the dark alley to avoid the heavy traffic jam caused by the rain, and inevitably, she was still late.
It's already been a year since she started to work for the MWPSB. In the end, she became cautious of everything and she promised herself not to trust anyone so easily after all that's happened.
Certainly, one of the perks of working under the bureau is gaining combat skills; another is having your senses heightened, like an animal on the lookout for its predator. Tensed, she turned to her heel, squinted through the lights to see if she was being followed. However there was no one in sight, but she knew better than to keep her guard down. The brunette picked up her pace and slid her right hand into her pocket.
It became a habit already, reaching for the chunk of metal, the gunpoint justice, only it wasn't there, work hours were over and the dominator needed to be left in the bureau. She sighed with dismay, but it didn't matter, because she could handle it. She's already developed a knack for fighting anyway.
I'm gonna have to do this the old fashioned way then, just in case. She thought.
The cold night wind blew across her face, making her hair astray. She made a mental note to have her hair cut tomorrow as she rubbed her palm together and clasped it to her face. "It's a good thing I moved near the bureau." she spoke to herself, further pressing her hands on her cheeks.
Swooosh.
She could've sworn she heard something, but she dismissed the thought and pushed past the turf, glancing side to side. Sure enough, she was right, a man's silhouette formed through the dim-lit street, the figure removed his helmet, light fell over his features; Raven hair, chiseled jaw and jet black eyes.
"Akane," the familiar voice spoke to her, faint smile crossing his lips, turning into a smirk as he said the words: I finally saw you again.
