I inhaled a breath. Water filled my lungs, and I felt my body sink lower into the pool of darkness. I began thrashing, but that only made me sink further into the depths of the ocean. All the muscles in my body began to relax, and darkness surrounded the edges of my consciousness. I collapsed onto the bottom of the ocean floor, my head knocking against the sand like concrete. I felt dizzy, and the darkness overtook me.
I opened my eyes to the soft rainfall outside of my window, and I glanced over towards the clock beside my bed. It was 12:00 PM. I had been asleep for a while... I rubbed my eyes, and my head pounded loudly throughout my body. I think I had been drinking last night, so it's not a surprise I was a bit hungover. I can't quite remember though, and my memories were failing me. I didn't even know where I was, come to think of it. I was in a small room, with only one small window, which wasn't even big enough to climb out of. The walls were painted a dark shade of blue, with a black trim on the bottom. The floor was oak wood, and it looked very unstable. I struggled to sit up, but I felt very tired and apathetic. I managed to sit up in the large white bed, but then I realized that there was a chain around my ankles, holding me onto the bed. I lowered my eyebrows in frustration, not understanding why I was here or why I couldn't get out of the bed, but that didn't matter now. I have only one memory I can comprehend now, and the rest of my thoughts are blurred and hidden from my reach.
My name is Lea.
I spent a very long time in that room. I had considered just using my barren hands to rip off the chains on my limbs. I had several thoughts burning through my mind, and none were pleasant. I was beginning to lose the sanity I was lacking already. I had been waiting and dreading the moment that followed. The floor creaked outside of the room's door, and I knew someone was there. I pray they are here to take me out, or wake me up from this madness. The knob slowly turned, and when the door opened it exposed a young man. He looked only about 25 or so. He had spiked dark brown hair, and piercing ocean blue eyes that instantly met up with mine. He was very attractive and tall, but I presume he is the one who knows why I am here. Regardless of his looks, I would have to push that to the least of my worries. Before I could ask him why I was trapped in here, he was beside me.
"Hello, Lea. Do you recognize me?" He questioned, kneeling beside the bed slowly. I shook my head lightly, and I tilted my chin up to meet his gaze. He was very muscular too... And the jawline was making me begin to gawk. "I'm Drake." He spoke after a moment, tensing a bit. "So I suppose you don't know why you're here, then?" He asked me in a monotone voice.
"No. I'd appreciate it if I could leave, Drake." I said. Rolling my eyes, I glanced at my nails. "I can't remember anything, and you're not going to help me from the looks of it." I added, straightening myself on the bed. He looked at me skeptically for a moment, before his features turned upwards into a small smile.
"You're not leaving, and your ignorance is better for the both of us, believe me." With that, he stood and left the room. I began panicking. I couldn't just stay here and rot! I parted my lips, about to start screaming at the stranger, but I began to feel very sleepy and my heartbeat slowed. My eyes fluttered up and down as I struggled to remain awake, but I could feel a heavy weight settle upon me, and I blacked out.
