AN: If you have seen the end of the movie, then you may or may not have BAWLED your eyes out!!! I thought that the ending was fudged up, so I am rewriting it. Enjoy.
~*Scene Switch*~
Aki sat with her arms around the man she loved. "Oh, why did you have to leave me? Why did you have to die? God, why? I never told you...I never got to tell you! Why?!" Aki hit her leg in anger and looked up. The eagle that she had seen...when Gray was still alive...
Gray opened his eyes and let out a deep breath. Aki had done it. She had saved the earth...she had saved him. Gray reached up and touched Aki's face. "You did it. You did it just in time Aki."
"Gray! But...how? How did you live? Your spirit...it left your body and...and...I saw you, Gray. I saw your spirit leave you. How are you alive?" Aki kissed Gray lightly on the lips and he smiled as she did.
"Aki, my spirit is still within me. You saved me just in time. The wave...I didn't die, Aki. I am alive, and I promise, I'll always be with you."
Aki kissed him again, this time desperately holding on to the man that she loved. "Gray, I never told you...I love you Gray. I love you, too. Promise you'll never scare me like that again!"
"Oh, Aki, I love you." Gray said as he brushed back Aki's hair. He would never leave her again. "Aki, I promise, I won't scare you again. I'm sorry. I love you." Gray pulled Aki down to him and kissed her, as the eagle flew overhead, promising a new beginning in the world that was now growing and full of life.
