Chapter One
The door opened. Ashley heard the now familiar shout, "Ashley are you in hear?".
Hastily she pulled down her sleeve, put the blade away and drew her feet up, so as not to be seen.
She heard the other girl walking over towards her stall.
"Damn it." she thought to herself "I'm the only person in here...duh! Stupid!"
She buried her head.
Ashley thought to herself "This the third time this week she's found me. she must follow me around or something"
The girl gently tapped on the door, her gentle voice quietly echoed "Ashley i know your in this cubicle." Open the door, now Ashley, come on just let me in"
"Fuck it…she already knows its me" and she stood up and undid the catch on the door.
Spencer rushed in and shut the door behind her, her voice much stronger now she said "Damn it Ashley, not again, I told u to stop. Give me your knife…come on...now Ashley!!"
she reluctantly pulled the blade from her bag and placed it in the other girls out-stretched hand.
"I've hundreds more anyway.", Ashley thought
"If I catch you again. I swear I'll tell the counsellor" The girls said her voice quivering slightly.
Ashley said softly, "No you wont."
The other girl relented "Your right, I wont, but fuck sake…why Ashley? why? why would anyone do that to them self?"
"You have no idea" Ashley muttered under her breath as she pushed past the other girl, opened the door and headed to the sinks.
The other girl joined her at the sinks. "You can talk to me you know."
Ashley turned around her back to the girl.
Spencer walked around her to face her and said, "I mean it Ashley, I wont bite"
"No...I cant Spencer" replied Ashley. " You don't understand… I mean...you wouldn't understand. You'd just label me a freak like the rest of them!"
"I wouldn't call you a freak. Come on i care about you. I don't wanna see you destroy yourself like this."
"You don't care, you cant care. You hate me I know you do...You have to hate me." Thought Ashley.
"Whatever Spencer…just leave me alone", said Ashley as she strode out the bathroom.
Spencer sighed deeply, she leaned back resting against the sink. "I have to keep trying"
