Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Henry's Forest" from Season 3. Enjoy and comment.

Henry has been on the Island of Sodor for many years. He wouldn't want to work anywhere else.

He like everything about Sodor, from the flowery fields, to the white sandy beaches.

But there is one place Henry enjoys visiting the most, the forest.

Henry loves it here. It is full of broad oaks and tall pines.

He could even remember the time when he and Toby brought new trees to be planted, and Terence and Trevor helped haul them into place.

Now, he could see new trees growing among the others on the hillside.

Henry always felt happy when he visited here.

He didn't know why, but his driver understood.

"The forest is peaceful." said the driver.

But one night, everything changed.

The engines were resting in their sheds, when they were awoken by a strange sound.

"Listen!" said Thomas. "Can you hear that?"

"It's only the wind blowing outside our sheds." replied Toby, "but I've never heard it like this before."

"If it was Gordon, I would say it was him thundering by with the Express!" said James.

All the engines laughed, except Henry.

"I hope the wind won't harm the forest." thought Henry to himself.

By morning, the fierce winds had gone, but the forest had been badly destroyed.

Henry's driver came to see him in the yard.

"Trees have fallen on the line." he said. "We must help clear the tracks."

Donald set off with the breakdown train, and Henry followed.

Trees laid everywhere, and the hillside looked very bad.

Henry felt sad.

"What will happen to all the animals that live here?" he thought.

When Henry's flatbed was full of log, he took them to the timber mill, where they would be turned into furniture, and other things.

Henry was glad that the wood would be put to good use, but was sorry to lose part of his forest.

"Oh dear!" sighed Toby. "I wish there was something we could do to make the forest better again."

"Yes indeed!" replied Thomas. "But what can we do? We can't fix broken trees."

Toby went to see Sir Topham Hatt.

"Hello Toby! You do look glum. What's the matter?"

"I'm sad about the trees." said Toby, "and so is Henry. The forest is a special place to him. Now some of it is gone!"

"We'll soon make things right!" said Sir Topham Hatt. "I have an important job for you Toby. You are to take some freight cars to the forest!"

When the freight cars arrived. Toby was delighted.

They were filled with brand-new trees, all ready for planting.

"This is the best job I've ever had!" said Toby proudly as he steamed away.

When Henry returned, he was surprised.

Terence and Trevor were helping the workmen move the tree stumps and branches."

"Look Henry!" called Terence. "We're going to plant new trees! The hillside will look better than ever before! Wait and see!"

Now, whenever Henry stops by the forest, he can see the new trees growing strong and tall.

Sometimes, the forest is very quiet, and sometimes Henry can hear leaves falling, or birds tweeting.

And everytime he comes here, he becomes happier than ever.
