Infinite Pathways – Chp. 1 – The First Steps

"Sonic," I yelled, "Thanks for deciding to give me some time to relax!" I was happy about this. I knew I needed a break. "No problem, Tails," Sonic said back. Knuckles gave me a thumbs-up and then waived bye. I waived back as they left. I promptly entered my house and took a nap on the couch. "What in the world was that?" I got off the couch. I thought I heard Eggman… I better go outside. "HELP!" was the only thing that came out of my mouth.
"Are you alive? Are you dead? Or are you somewhere in the middle?" … "Damn. Looks like he's dead already." Where am I? And who said that? I had to reply, "What kind of question was that?"
Then I heard from behind, "Thanks for the sign." I looked up, and then a chase started. I didn't want to be near this guy. After a while, I stopped. "What kind of gate is this?" Of course, this allowed my pursuer to catch up. "Good question," my pursuer said. I hoped I was dreaming. Besides, this couldn't be real. "Why have you been following me," I asked. He sighed. "This area here is between life and death. This here is some kind of portal. It must go somewhere." Now I understood. The two of us must be the only ones here. "Sorry, Nazo. I didn't understand," I said.
"How were you suppose to know anyway? Could you help me figure out where this goes," Nazo asked. I came over and helped him out. A while later, we concluded it leads to some place called Nazca. "Beats being here," Nazo said. I nodded. We went though the portal… And thus, our first journey together began.
