"WAKE UP NOW". I opened my eyes and saw a big blue she-cat who was shouting.
"Mama" I said.
"Why can't you be like your sister Moonkit. You're ugly and you have a dirty brown pelt and you have a green and blue eye. I think I will call you Brownkit. You're lucky that I didn't name you Splitkit or Dirtkit".
What did I do to her I wondered.
Later that day dad, who is Sharpclaw, was teaching Moonkit how to hunt.
"Dad can I join?" I asked.
"NO you are worthless, you shouldn't even be living" he replied.
"Why don't you go in a quiet corner and die" Moonkit said.
Am I just a mistake she wondered.
It was our apprentice ceremony today.
"Cats of Thunderclan we call on these two kits to become apprentices. Moonkit, from now to a warrior you will be known as Moonpaw. Your mentor will be Adderclaw".
"No" she wailed. "I need a good mentor like you not mean old Adderclaw".
"Well tough" Robinstar replied.
"Now for Brownki. From this day to a warrior you will be known as Brownpaw and I will mentor you".
"That's not fair" my mother Grayflower said
"Moonpaw should get you" my father said.
"You ruined my life Brownpaw" Moonpaw growled.
What are we doing today I asked.
"I am going to teach you how to fight. We will start with the belly rake. I want you to slide under me and gently rake my belly" said Robinstar.
"Ok" I said.
Using my size as an advantage, I quickly slid under him and raked his belly gently.
"Very well done" Robinstar said.
"It's getting close to sun fall, we should go back to the camp"
