A Brutal Winter and Ear Infections

it's brutal winter time in Stars Hollow when Lorelai and Rory are living in the tool shed and Rory is really sick with 2 ear infections when 3 maids call in sick and Mia does after Lorelai to try and get her to come into work but Rory won't let mommy go

Chapter 1

One cold snowy winter day in the tool shed after Lorelai and Rory have just gotten back from the doctors Lorelai is sitting on her bed watching tv with a toddler Rory on her lap who is laying back against her chest and keeps rubbing at her face and ears with her sippy cup in her hand.

Lorelai feels her forehead "oh my poor sick baby." she says sympathically

Rory just whines

"shh relax rest sweetie you'll feel better soon." she tells Rory who is all stuffed up and red and kisses and strokes her head when there's a knock at the door

Lorelai tries to move Rory off of her 'I'll be right back sweetie mommy has to get that

"Momma" Rory says miserably reaching for her

"no sweetie stay there I'll be right back." Lorelai tells her

"mommaaa." Rory cries

"hunnie you're sick and it's cold out I don't want you to get sicker than you already are.' Lorelai tells her

"mommaaaa." Rory groans and cries

"ugh okay okay." Lorelai says picking her up putting her on her sip and goes to answer the door and opens it

"Mia." Lorelai says

"Hi Sweetheart, hey baby girl how ya feeling?" Mia wonders

"not so good." Lorelai tells her letting her in closing the door fast to keep the cold air away from Rory

"so what's up?" Lorelai wonders

"well 3 of my maids called in sick and I really need you to work today

"but today's my..." Lorelai says cutting cut off by Mia

"day off yes I know but I will pay you extra if you come for a few hours." Mia tells her

"but Rory's.." Lorelai says getting cut off again

"sick I know baby but I can watch her." Mia tells her

"she won't let go; She won't let me out of her sight." Lorelai tells her

Rory just clings to her.

"me holding her is the only thing that is comforting to her right now." Lorelai tells her

"let me see her." Mia tries to hold out her arms to take Rory

Rory hides her face in Lorelai's shoulder.

"see,I really can't go to work today Mia I'm sorry; You're just going to have to find some replacments just for today." Lorelai tells her kind of madly not trying to sound rude but Rory is digging her nails into Lorelai's shoulder

Mia sighs "okay then thanks baby." Mia says

"Yup." Lorelai says letting her out and closes the door fast and gets into bed with a sick Rory trying to get her to go down for a nap
