A/N: This is the shortest thing I ever wrote, in my ongoing effort to produce something good. Enjoy.
Fireworks
Felix
He stood on the roof of Niceland Apartments, witnessing the fireworks lit off every significant anniversary. He appreciated the care put into the formation by the Nicelanders. The colors of the spectacle reflected in his blue eyes, as he read the words formed:
Happy 1st anniversary.
The firework show was starting to end, and the Good Guy's mind drifted to Ralph. He wasn't invited to the celebration, but at first, the handyman thought he didn't mind, that he had better things to do. Now, Felix thought he'd better go out and find the antagonist. After all, he was an important part of the game. Without him, there would be no game.
"Felix! Pie's ready!"
Felix was snapped out of his thoughts by Nicelander Mary calling him, and so conveniently right after the firework show ended. The handyman plastered a smile on his face and walked inside.
After a night of cake, pies, and nonstop chatting with the NPCs, Felix was more than happy when he crawled into bed, the Bad Guy long forgotten.
Ralph
He wasn't content with watching the fireworks from his stump every time they were lit. Granted, he could see fine from there, but he wished Felix or one of the Nicelanders would invite him to a party, just once. Ralph liked the grandeur of the spectacle, but the fact that they were meant for the Good Guy of the game made it ache inside. He wasn't jealous, quite the contrary, he was happy for Felix. But, he wished that he could have something like that. It wasn't easy, throwing bricks. And do you think he wanted to smash windows in? Sometimes, they scratched, but he couldn't even take a moment to shake off the pain, otherwise the players would think the game was broken. Felix didn't have to worry about that. He was the Good Guy. When he got hurt, he just regenerated with no pain. Ralph pulled the bricks on himself like a makeshift cover as he stared up at the building and thought, 'Man... It sure must be nice, being the Good Guy.'
Gene
He detested them. The only reason he ever went near them was the fact that Felix enjoyed them. They were hard to set up, it was time-consuming, and they were loud, something Gene never liked. Every time a significant anniversary came up, or when the 4th of July rolled around, because Felix thought it would be nice to celebrate in the game, he would inwardly cringe, knowing him and him alone would be in charge of the exploding horrors of his life. Every other Nicelander had other duties to fulfill. Many a time he considered just getting rid of the things for good, but sooner or later it would come back to bite him in the butt. So, he just bore with it. At least until the game was unplugged.
Turbo
He loved them. He knew his game was older than Felix's, so there was no way there could be a firework show there. He also didn't know Felix, so there also wasn't a chance that he could be invited to one of these parties with the fireworks. He learned to improvise. Every 4th of July, he snuck into Fix-it Felix JR to see the fireworks, until the mayor discovered him there one year, and told the Surge Protector that he wasn't allowed in that game again. Now, Turbo climbs to the highest point in his game, the top of the stands, and if he twisted his neck just right, and leaned far enough, he was able to see the real-world fireworks just a little, out of the corner of his eye.
-THE END-
A/N: So, you like? I can't hear you, you have to speak up. Louder... Louder... LOUDER!
On second thought, how about you leave a review instead?
