Poems in the Night
On a rock farm not far from Ponyville, the moon and stars were shining brightly. The air was warm and the night was quiet. Everything was peaceful, but only on the outside. Inside the farmhouse, it was another story. Although the other residents were doing alright, there was one who wasn't feeling quite right. Little Pinkameena Pie (Pinkie Pie for short) was lying in her bed but she couldn't sleep because her stomach was hurting her. Her older sister, Maud walked quietly into her sister's bedroom in order to avoid awakening anyone. "Another stomachache, Pinkie?" she asked. Pinkie nodded her head yes. See, Pinkie Pie got tummy-aches a lot when she was younger and nopony really knew why. "How about I read you a poem to help take your mind off your discomfort" Maude suggested, "Ok" Pinkie Agreed. It bothered Maud to see her little sister in such pain, although you wouldn't know that just by looking at her. She flipped through her poetry book until she came to the poem titled "The Little Mermare: The Poem". She began reciting this poem:
Under the sea
Blue as a sapphire
A mermare dwells
Mane pink as coral
Pinkel is her name
She yearns for life above
Father does not allow
At night she surfaces
To meet her prince
His eyes shine like gems
A storm suddenly strikes
The prince is in danger
Ship sinking like a stone
She comes to his rescue
It is love at first sight
Yet love beyond reach
A deal is made
With the witch of the sea
Tail transformed
Into legs
True love's kiss must be shared
Or to the witch Pinkel will belong
Prince Cheese Sandwich recognizes her not
But love still finds a way
Pinkel is to be married the very next day
Upon the prince the witch casts her spell
Now it is the witch whom he loves
Again true love prevails
The spell is broken
Pinkel is his love again
Anger fills the witch
To destroy Pinkel is her desire
With a trident in hand
She fires away
Prince Cheese Sandwich comes to her aid
With the strike of a boat, the day is saved
True love prevails
Dreams come true
Pinkie Pie's eyes were lit up with excitement as if she forgot all about her pain. Maud lightly kissed her sister and said "Goodnight, Pinkie" "Goodnight, Maud." Pinkie said.
