Alphonse sat there and thought about, how, at one point or another he had read about people and they're body language. He remembered a certain part of said book, which talked about the eyes. Apparently the emotions conveyed in a person's eyes,

could be the complete opposite of their words or actions. He mused about this as his older brother and Winry stood facing each other, screaming. The words being thrown out, he was sure, were not the ones they wanted to say. Their eyes told him that.

"Why do you have to go!?" Winry screamed. Why do you have to go, without me?

"Because I have too! I need to get Al's body back!" he fired back. Id rather stay here, with you.

"You are so SELFISH!" she lashed out. What about me?

"And you aren't? God, Winry the only reason you want me back here is for my god damned automail!" he slammed his metallic hand down. I can't risk that.

"You know that's not true." She whispered, as eyes and words became one. Al looked up as he sensed the shift of mood in the conversation, and he quietly slipped out of the room.

"I know." He responded quietly in the same tone of voice, as he lifted his eyes to meet hers. He noted the tears welling in her eyes and in three quick strides was in front of her. "I know, Winry, I know." And with that, he kissed her.

It was soft and chaste and it was everything and nothing she had ever hoped for. There was too much sadness and regret in it for her liking, but the love was there and that's all she would ever need. It ended as quickly as it had started and soon he has pulled away, and promised her he would come back. He would come back for her. Those were the last words he ever spoke to her. And years later as she sat waiting, her eyes filled with tears.
