I was walking down the street on reaping day all muddy and gross. I was almost home to the victory a helicopter flew overhead on the bottom was a capitol symbol. Worried I was going to be late I started to run.
"Of course there early" I said under my breath, Effie was moved to district 7 this year. Which to was an upgrade in her mind. There was no way she would be late.
District 7 wasn't a bad place to grow up, if you don't mind cutting down trees and hearing them fall all day every day.
I was only 12 I though there is no way they're going to pick me. Reaping day was very scary, because absolutely no one is outside but the peacekeepers. They are everywhere
"Where have you been it's reaping day, and your going to look like a piece of crap" Johanna said. I ran inside and took a bath and cleansed myself of the dirt. Once I got out of the tub waiting there was some of the finest pieces of clothing I have ever seen. After a few minutes of learning how to button, I came out.
"Looking good" Johanna said "Come on let's hurry up or well be late" Just the thought of that made me shiver. As we ran to the reaping Johanna wished me luck an run backstage. As they took my blood and told me where to go I though, what will happen in years from now will there still be games or will they be memories lost in time. Effie Trinket walked up "Welcome! Welcome! Happy Hunger Games and may the Odds Be Ever in your Favor! Now, Before we Begin, We have a special message brought to you all the way from the Capitol!" They showed us some corny video about the history of the games. "I just Love That!" She said in a high voice. "Now, as Usual, ladies First!" Her hand rolled in the bowl for a while then she chose one "Aberdeen Bonx" It was a 15 year old girl she was holding hands with the kid next to her. She started to cry probably knowing she was going to die.
"Now for the boys" Effie said "Camilo Mason..." She called my name. There was silence for a couple of seconds. Then everyone looked at me "Come up sweetheart" I walked up there slowly. I couldn't stop thinking that some one was going to volunteer for me. Once I got to the stage I gave up all hope. Hopefully it goes how it did for my sister, she won and I will to in her name, since she won for me.
"Well come on shake hands you to." Ask we shook hands we she said she under her breath "don't die to fast Camilo."
"Dont you either Aberdeen"
