Insanity
Prologue
I entered the room and my heart was racing. There SHE stood. Waiting. Our eyes locked. I slowly took a few steps toward her. Please God don't let her disappear. Her eyes were wide and gleaming as the tears began to build. Our breathing was heavy and the sound of each breath filled the room. I could feel the tension rising deep inside my chest. A small smile caressed her lovely lips. The tears building in her eyes were not sadness, but love.
And yet I stood there, dumbfounded. We walked toward each other, she let out a small gasp. I pulled her to my chest. I held her by the small of her back. She took me around the waist and slid her hands up to my shoulders. My chest felt heavy as I tried to breath. I felt as if I had just ran 100 miles just to see her. I could tell she felt the same way. Her face fit perfectly into the small of my neck and there I could feel her cool breath send shivers down my spine. I rested my head on top of hers. "Naruto," she breathed. My eyebrows knitted together. I tightened my grip around her.
I felt my whole body tingle as she said my name. Suddenly, an image of a head board hitting the wall and HER screaming my name came into my head. I flushed a little. I ran my hand through her hair. We pulled apart sooner than I would've liked. I looked at her and our eyes met. She placed her hand on my jaw and ran it up above my ear and to the back of my head. She held me there, "Look at you." her voice shook. She smiled lightly and slid her hand back down my jaw. I couldn't stand her to be away any longer!
I took her into my arms for another long awaited hug. I place my head on hers again and took the smell of her hair in. Lavender. "I found you." I murmured as my eyes filled with tears. She pulled away from me, "I found you." Her expression changed suddenly to a look of despair. She backed away from me slowly. My shirt clung to my body, where her hands had been.
I could feel the shock and confusion playing out on my face. "Why are you here?" she demanded.
How could she ask that? My heart shattered. "To see you." I smiled half heartedly. "Well, you see me," she shook her head, "now what?" She pursed her lips and her eyes narrowed a little. Her smile, now, completely faded. My eyes searched hers for a moment.
What was I searching for? The happiness I had had a moment ago? I lowered my eyes to the floor in frustration. Her eyes never left mine. I felt my lips twitch and I flared my nostrils. I quickly collected my thoughts and whispered to her, "Come away with me." She looked up at me once more, "Away where?" she asked in a hushed voice. She looked around, "And live on what?" she asked harshly. "Love." I answered slightly hesitant.
I looked out of the corner of my eye at her and saw her smile. My heart leaped in my chest. I heard a car ignition roar outside and her eyes widened in panic, "You have to leave!" she pushed me forward. I looked at her confused. "You have to go! NOW!" she hollered. "When can I see you again?" I asked when we reached the door. "Never." she whispered. "Never is not an option." I growled, "Naruto, will you do me a favor?" she asked and a small sob came from deep in her throat.
"Yes. Anything." I replied, I looked her dead in the eyes. "Forget me." she whispered, "Go now and never come back." She opened the door and pushed me outside. I stumbled down the stairs and landed on my butt. I heard a door slam, and when I looked up…she was gone.
