And He Remembers

AN: I swear my mind is out to get me. I'm having real troubles at school, and I'm supposed to be writing an essay on biodiversity for Environmental Science, and I'm currently (trying) to do Geometry homework. And then Muse shows up and demands fluff. And I'm not in the mood for fluff. So, angst is what you get. X3 As for the pairing, I'm not telling. I guess this is a missing scene, or an episode epilogue. As well as a bit in the future, I guess.
AN2: Thank you to everyone that nominated "Behind the Walls" in the SJA awards in humor. Remember to vote overall, and be fair with it.
AN3: I know I should be updating "Ragnarok", but I am trying to make Chapter Two long and nice, while keeping interest in the story. And for someone who asked over email: I really don't know if I'll continue the story of Grace. I was thinking, after the whole series/saga was done, I might add little introspects into their lives after the story ends. : shrugs : Who knows.
Thanks: To Ruth, my ever so lovely beta who puts up with my horrible spelling and grammar, much to my amusement, and I am sure her chagrin.
Spoilers: Season Six's Frozen and slight mention of Season Seven's Lost City 1 and 2 and Stargate Atlantis's Rising 1 and 2
Disclaimer: Not mine. That's it.

I want you to live.

Sorry.

The scene played itself over and over again in his head, even after they had gotten back from the Tok'ra base. He locked himself up in his room, lying on the bed and looking at the ceiling, but only seeing her face looking back at him. Closing his eyes didn't help, because he only saw her smiling, and saying 'amazing'. And then her eating, and then him catching her.

It was like the past few days were on fast forward (a concept Teal'c introduced while watching 'StarWars') though his mind, images of her just kept flashing in his head over and over again.

He groaned, turning to like on his stomach, face in his pillow.

But it didn't help at all. He could still see her, but… his mind registered slowly, she was dressed like they found her, and she was smiling at him in a strange room, a lit chair in the back.

Come, Jonas.

It was her voice, though in the ancient tongue, he could still understand her.

She was holding out her hand to him, and he took it, looking at her.

"Where are we going, Ayiana?"

You shall see.

And then they were there, in a city, surrounded by bustling people, all dressed much like she was, though more richly. He wandered over to a balcony, and looked down over what looked to be like a gate room, the Stargate standing there, and then the people faded, leaving him and Ayiana alone. He turned back to her, a question on his lips.

This is my home, Terra Atlantis. I have done what you call 'Ascending'. When you die, Jonas, release your burden. I shall help you, and then you may join me here. I will wait, Jonas. Will you wait until you die naturally?

"But I shall be old and gray, Ayiana."

If you keep this place in your heart, as well as me, then you shall join me as you are now. If you end your life, I cannot help you Ascend. Wait for me, Jonas, as I shall wait for you.

And she laid her hand on his chest and kissed him, before she faded around him, as well as all the others, until he woke, face down on his bed.

And he remembered, and kept her in his heart and mind, until he passed from this world and into her loving arms for all eternity, never to fear losing her again.

AN: That's my big question. Did Ayiana Ascend? Even though they don't show it, they never show her body. And after they try, perhaps she does. That's what I like to think, anyway. Because she is an Ancient, after all. Perhaps this isn't so angsty as I thought it was going to be.
