Disclaimer: Angel Links and its characters don't belong to me. If they did, the show would have been done a little differently.

Author's Notes: I was disappointed with the ending of Angel Links, so I wrote a scene to add to the end. It just ties up a couple loose ends. I'm thinking about maybe coming up with a prize for people who can tell me what date this fic takes place on. ^^

The New Final Scene of Angel Links

It was a beautiful spring day—the kind that makes you want to just sit and enjoy the weather. Which is exactly what Kosei was doing. He watched the ripples in the lake in front of him and sighed. It had been nearly a year since he had seen any of the Angel Links crew. In that time, he had fixed up the house that he and Meifon had stayed in for a short time and made it his home. That house held so many memories. Meifon… she had been just like a younger sister to him. Of course now she was gone. She had reached her time limit. Exactly 10 months and 17 days ago.

Kosei was startled out of his thoughts by a small squeak and a rustling sound coming from a nearby bush. He walked over to the bush and pushed aside a few leaves to reveal a small yellow kitten. He reached out a hand to pet it. At first it shied away, but then a look came across its face as if it recognized Kosei. I looked as if it had known and trusted Kosei for years, even though it could not have been more than a couple months old. He picked up the little kitten. It didn't have any kind of nametag.

"Well, kitty," he began, "do you have a home?" The kitten looked at him blankly for a minute, then wriggled its way out of his hands and climbed onto his shoulder. He laughed. "I guess that means you want me to take care of you, huh?" The little cat seemed to almost smile. "I suppose you need a name…"

At that, the cat jumped down and gave Kosei a pleading look and a long meow. He looked at the small, begging kitten.

"You're hungry, aren't you? Well, I'll see what I can do." He disappeared into the house and returned a few minutes later with some fish. He placed the food in front of the kitten, who gobbled it up in lightning speed and finished with a satisfied "meow".

"I used to know a girl with an appetite like that." Kosei mused. The kitten sneezed. Kosei hoped it wasn't sick. He didn't want to think about how much medicine for a cat would cost.

Suddenly, the little yellow cat turned and started to leave. Kosei was surprised.

"Kitty? Where are you going?" he yelled after it. The kitten turned and looked at Kosei in a way that let him know it would be back. He decided to let it go and do what it wanted to. He would just watch over it sometimes. As he watched it walk away, he said, more to himself than to the cat, "A free cat that can eat a lot… I've decided on a name for you, kitty. I'm gonna call you Meifon."
