A/N: HA WHAT IS THIS SHIT AHAHA sorry I don't even know what to say this sucks
Any other person would have thought it was an ordinary March morning, but to Francis it was much more than that. He'd had enough of hiding his feelings in fear of rejection, and tired of the one who'd stolen his heart being dragged along by the scrawny Italian that claimed to love his precious Ludwig. They'd had more breakups and make ups Francis had ever seen, always arguing over petty things. They had currently been "seeing other people" for a couple months now and the Frenchman sought out to make his move finally.
"Ahh, there you are, Ludwig. I've been looking all over for you!" said Francis as he waltzed over to his love's desk in the Axis Powers office. He smiled lightly at the man, trying his best not to look desperate.
"Hello Francis. What is it that you need me for? I'm a bit busy right now and I'm needed somewhere fairly soon."
Francis took a breath, attempting to calm his nerves before responding to him. "Well, I know things haven't been exactly smooth for you and Feli, and you don't go out and enjoy yourself very much - not that there's anything wrong with that - but I was thinking we could get dinner sometime, just the two of us, not caring about any of our woes or worries… It'd be fun, no?"
Ludwig looked at his admirer, a confused and slightly flustered look on his face. He and the Frenchman didn't speak much, save for the world conference meetings, and even then they saw each other sparingly. "Um, thank you very much for the offer, but I'll have to pass. I mean, we don't see each other that often and – Oh wait, tomorrow's April Fool's, correct? I see; that makes more sense. But you should try to hold off on the joking until then. And as for me and Felicia-" he managed to get out before the bouncing brunette came bursting through the doors of the office.
"Buongiorno, Ludwig!" Feliciano said, pecking the man's cheek before lazily draping his arms over his shoulders. "Ve~, hello to you too, Francis. I didn't know you were here. Anyway, Luddy, are you ready for our date?" Francis cringed at the last word, fully realizing the situation he had gotten himself into.
"Ja, Francis was just asking me about some paper work. Let's get going now. Knowing you, you're probably famished at this time of the morning."
"Great!" Feliciano cried, getting off his lover, allowing him to get up. "I'm getting hungry already just thinking about eating. Can we get some pasta? I just love it so much, you know?" The Italian reached up to kiss the German again, making Francis and Ludwig move their eyes to the floor. "We'll see you later, Francis. Ciao!"
Francis stayed in the office long after the couple had left, watching them exit the building laughing and holding onto each other, never wanting to let go.
"Haa, funny isn't it…" he remarked before finally leaving the empty room. "The country of love can't seem to find any for himself."
