At seven o'clock, every weekend morning, a loud shrill ringing reverberated throughout the bedroom of the young maroon-haired girl. Sleepily, she reached out from within the warm confines of her bed and slammed her hand down-effectively terminating the thing that woke her from her peaceful slumber.
That was, until she realized what day it was.
Practically throwing herself out of her bed, Kou rushed to the nearest bathroom to start her morning routine. While brushing her teeth, the girls eyes would constantly roam to the nearby clock. By the time she was done and had thrown on a black pair of leggings, a long knitted navy blue shirt, and her black boots, it was 7:30.
I'm going to be late. She thought desperately while grabbingher purse and hat, Kou bolted out the door and into the cool fall air.
Her destination-the park that was halfway between home and her older brother's school, Samezuka.

As she entered through the tall iron gates of the local park, Kou felt a sigh of relief pass across her lips. Now that she was here, and fifteen minutes early, she could relax. Walking over to a small hot beverage stand, she purchased a coffee and made residence at a picnic table. Reaching her her purse, Kou pulled out a book that she had been reading and waited.
Finally, at eight o'clock on the dot, the sound of feet rhythmically hitting the pavement could be heard. Smiling, but swiftly pushing it down, the girl felt a stare on her as someone jogged past. Seconds later, that someone backtracked and was standing right next to her. "Gou-kun!"
Jerking her gaze from her reading, maroon eyes glanced up to land on the warm golden eyes of Samezuka's captain, Mikoshiba Seijuurou. He was clad in a Samezuka tracksuit, ear muffs and a scarf. The usual for his morning runs every weekend.
"Hello Mikoshiba-san." Kou greeted as casually as she could, a smile appearing on her face. Just a greeting from him and Kou could already feel her cheeks start to stain red. He was the only one to ever have this much of an effect on her.
Suddenly, something soft and warm was wrapped around her neck. His scarf. Unsure of what to say, her gaze just flickered from the warm material and then back to Seijuurou. That was when she noticed that his cheeks too, were stained a dark red color as he stared steadily back at her.
"Your face is a little red Gou-kun, you need to be careful so you don't get sick, okay?" Acting without even thinking, Samezuka's captain reached out and gently pushed a piece of Kou's hair behind her ear. Then, as if coming back from a daze and realizing what he just did, he turned on his heel and started jogging once more, but not before turning around once more and shouting, "See ya later, Gou-kun!"
And then he was gone.
Bringing her hands to his scarf, Kou gripped it tightly and nuzzled into it. Really, would he never come to the conclusion that the only reason she woke up at seven in the morning, ran to the park and sat the this picnic table was to see him.
After all, there are no such things as coincidences.
