This is my first, and I hope you enjoy this short piece of writing.
Part one in a three part series.
Why were deserts so hot? I mean didn't this desert used to be filled with lush green grass? Then where the heck did it go? Those god damn electric hermit crabs are certainly NOT helping. They roll faster than I can run, and when they attack I can barely breathe because of the pain.
I wasn't used to extreme heat. Heck, I wasn't used to extreme anything, living in Skyloft all my life. You wouldn't believe how hard this all is... From being protected by Zelda by a bunch of school bullies, to embarking on a quest to save her... I miss Zelda... She was my best friend. I have so many precious memories of us together.
I slowly felt myself losing the ongoing battle of strength. It was too hot, and I was exhausted. I could see a huge crest in the distance, the Temple of Time I could only presume, since I got some info out of those little robots. I was walking toward it, but I was sure it looked as if it were getting further away. I trudged on through this horrid wasteland, wary of its inhabitants. I heard something behind me, and prayed it wasn't one of those hermit crabs. I turned around, only to see one of them. It hadn't seen me yet, so I slowly edged my way towards an ancient wrecked wall. I suddenly cried out in surprise as I was being sucked into the ground. It took all my might to get out and to the other side. I looked behind me. The bloody thing had heard me, and was now coming at full speed toward me. I didn't have anything left in me, but I still run for it. I could feel the crackling electricity on my back, it was telling my legs to run faster, but it wasn't working. It finally hit me. First the intense pain of something ramming into my back, then the excruciating pain coming from the electricity.
I lay there, injured and probably dying. It wasn't as if there was anyone or anything to save me out here. I closed my eyes, feeling ashamed of myself. Zelda has probably crossed this desert, and she's a girl with practically no ability to fight. I need to save her, and here I am, sleeping in the sand. I heard a bird call in the distance, foolishly hoping it was my crimson loftwing. I'm pretty sure I heard Fi trying to get me up and moving, but I wasn't going anywhere any time soon. I closed my eyes, embracing the darkness washing over me.
