A/N: This is my entry for The Odd Pairings competition on HPFC. It's how Justin is feeling after their first date.

Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter

Justin's POV

Being around her was a feeling that I couldn't put into words. I felt so comfortable around her, like I could tell her anything about anyone and I could trust her to not tell it to anyone who gossips at Hogwarts.

From all the times we've been together, our first date topped it off, definitely.

It wasn't much; we went to Honeydukes first, followed by the Three Broomsticks. There was barely anyone there from our houses at this time of year, it was Christmas after all, so it meant that me and Luna could be together for longer. Even Harry as well as the Weasley children went home for their Christmas.

Just walking around the small town of Hogsmeade with her, in the bitter - cold snow, it felt wonderful. We talked about many things; Nargles, Eton, our parents and the upcoming war.

"It does feel like war is coming," Luna had said and I agreed with her. Like the calm before a huge storm, there was this sense of fear in the air, wherever you looked.

"Have you found any nargles or wrackspurts lately?" I ask.

"No, but daddy says he's on the trail to finding Crumple-Horned Snorack" Luna says proudly.

I hum absent-mindedly as we walk back to Hogwarts. Luna turns to face me, staring at me with her beautiful silver orbs, and is no longer walking.

"Are you alright?" I ask her.

"Oh yes. I'm just fine" she replies dreamily.

"Then why have you stopped walking?" I ask her, confused.

In reply, she pecks me on the cheek lightly. I feel myself going pink and I look at Luna. She smiles up at me and soon enough, I smile too.

"We should get going" she says happily. I nod and we walk in peaceful silence.

When we arrive back at the castle, Luna turns to go back to the Ravenclaw tower.

"Luna," I say and she turns back around.

"Yes?" she asks pleasantly.

I walk to her and kiss her softly. It felt amazing and I could feel something warm and bright inside of me. I can feel her smiling.

I break away reluctantly, but ask "Would you like to hang out at the next hogsmeade session" to which she replies "Of course, Justin. At the Three Broomsticks."

I say "see you soon," and she smiles back at me.

I wave and start walking to the Hufflepuff common room, but not before seeing her smile dreamily and skipping away happily. People may make fun of her, call her Loony and take her shoes and clothes away from her, but to me, she was simply amazing.

And in that moment, I feel as though I could skip away, too.

(2012) End A/N: So, that was the first time I've written romance. I think I didn't do to well, but please tell me if you like it.

Thanks,

Luna

(2014 Edit: I decided against writing another chapter because I had little to no inspiration for it. Sorry if anyone was waiting for it, but I give you permission to continue this, if you really want to. Thanks.)
