Disclaimer: I do not own X-Files, The Lone Gunmen, or any of the characters from those shows.

AN: This is a result of the new episode that they played on Sunday, April 21. I was not in a good mood the next morning, beleive me. Anyway, for this fic to work I came up with the idea that after a certain amount of time they were no longer contagious and lived for about two days after being exposed. Just a theory, but hey, this is my fic.

Lullaby
~*~

As son as she had heard about what he had done, she got herself assigned to the wing that he was being kept in. Two days after he was brought in she mustered up the courage to say goodbye.

"Hey Langley."

"Sarah..?"

Sarah winced, he sounded a lot worse than she thought he would. "Yeah. I heard about what you did, that was pretty brave of you."

"Thanks."

Langley started coughing and Sarah sat down on the bed, pulling him over so that he was sitting on her lap, his head resting on her chest. She wrapped her arms around him and began rocking back and forth, continuing even after he had stopped coughing. As Sarah rocked she began to hum. It was a lullaby that her mother, who also used to be nurse, would sing to the terminally ill children.

Hush, Hush my sweet one

Sleep now, Don't cry

Sad times are gone now

Happy times shall arrive

The circle continues

Don't fret now, Don't cry

Your worries are over

Your memory lives on

And I will always love you.

Sarah continued to hum the melody as Langley went slack in her arms. When she felt his breathing slow to a crawl and then stop she rested her head on his and wept quietly.

So what'd you think? I made up the lullaby all by myself. Please review and tell me what you think. Constructive criticism welcomed, but no flames please.
