"Dean."
Dean jumped from his spot at the table with lightning speed, grabbing his knife on the way up, before putting it right back down as he recognized the voice.
"Damn it Cas, you scared the hell out of me, stop doing that." Dean snapped irritably.
"My apologies." Castiel said as he took a step closer.
The angels usually calm, serene face now was the picture of absolute terror. His eyes wider than usual and shifty, his mouth pulled into a tight line, a few pristine beads of sweat bordering his forehead.
"Cas, what's wrong?" He asked, concern filling his voice.
"I have a confession Dean, and I don't know how you will react to it." Cas replied, his tone soft and timid.
After a few moments of silence Dean's eyebrows lifted while his lips turned up slightly in the corners, creating a small smile. "My silence is your cue, Cas."
The Angel squeezed his hands together and raised head, "I think…I think I may love you Dean…"
Castiel's baby-blues met the hunters forest green eyes, searching for any sign of emotion. It took a few moments before Dean finally seemed to register the confession.
To say it took Castiel by surprise when Dean grabbed his worn trench coat by the collar and pulled him into a kiss would be an understatement. When they broke apart for air and Dean rested his forehead against Castiel's, he finally spoke.
"I love you too."

Authors Note Two- God that was crappy. I just needed some love. R&R if you wish to do so, I appreciate every one even though I can't reply to them immediately.
