Hello! This story has been running through my head for a while. I'm really excited to share this with you all! I really hope you enjoy it, and if you do, pretty please review. Reviews, as they say, are like food for writers. I'm hungry, hint hint. (; Hehe. Enjoy.

Mystic Falls, 1864

Lucetta had just finished dressing for the day, her silk blue dress snug around her, and her golden hair tucked neatly on her head. She heard pacing outside of her bedroom door and smiled, knowing it was the ever impatient Damon, eager to begin the day. He had planned for them to have a picnic outside. Opening her door, she met the eyes of Damon. Damon smiled gently, stopping his pacing to press a hand lightly to her shoulder. Lucetta was only fifteen, but she seemed to be looking older every day. It worried Damon, he didn't want to lose his sister. They were eight years apart, but were very close. They were two halves of a whole. One never went anywhere without the other. "You look beautiful as always, sister." Damon spoke. "Thankyou, Damon. Shall we go for our picnic?" Damon nodded, offering his arm for her to take. After getting their lunch and a blanket to sit on, they proceeded to go outside and look for a nice place to eat. They chose a place under an apple tree, the sun shining through the leaves and specking the blanket with light. Once they were settled, Damon could see Lucetta relax. She didn't have to worry about always saying the right things, or being perfectly well-mannered. They ate in a comfortable silence, just enjoying they beautiful day. After eating, they set the leftovers aside. Lucetta set her head on Damon's shoulder, closing her eyes. "Don't ever grow up, dear sister." Damon whispered forlornly, wishing he could keep her like this forever. "I wish I didn't have to." Damon kissed her hair gently, wrapping an arm around her shoulder. "Do you think Stefan will be upset that he was not invited to our picnic?" Lucetta asked, turning her head up to meet Damon's eyes. Damon pulled a face. He knew that he was Lucetta's favorite, but she still had a strong affection for Stefan, and Damon sometimes felt jealous. "I'm sure he will be fine." Lucetta smile playfully. "I think someone's jealous." Damon grinned, leaning forward threateningly. Lucetta giggled, knowing what would come next. "Take the words back!" Damon shouted. "Never!" Lucetta called out. Damon reached forward and began tickling her furiously. "Alright, alright! I take it back, Damon!" She said in between a stream of giggles. Damon laughed, eyes shining with joy. He pulled her to the ground with him, and she set her head on his chest, curling into him and still giggling. After a few minutes, they sighed, knowing they would soon have to return home, to an uptight father. "Any ladies catching your eye, Damon?" Lucetta asked softly, knowing that many ladies wished they could have her brother. "Well, there is one. Her name is Katherine Pierce, she arrived a few days ago, and father introduced Stefan and I to her." Damon murmured, his eyes getting a far-off look. Lucetta smiled with withheld excitement, wanting to hear more about this girl. "What is she like, Damon?" "She's very charming, and the most beautiful girl I've ever met. Aside from you, of course." He added quickly, to avoid the wrath of Lucetta. "And her eyes, they're so warm, but seem to hide a secret. She intrigues me." He finished, returning from his day dream. "I want to know her better, Lucetta."

Back again! I really hope you enjoyed it. If you would like me to continue, please review. Thankyou. -Cat
