The Avengers, scattered across the beach with their minds and bodies broken, kneel before Thanos after a most brutal battle. "HUAHUEHUAHUEHUAHUEHUAHUE, fools, you cannot defeat me, for I am Thanos! I am the sword of death! You are worms, kneeling before a god, and you cannot ever hope to stop me!" the evil overlord boasted. Most of the Avengers remained in solemn and painful silence, knowing that they had lost... except for one.
"You're right. We can't stop you," proclaimed Captain America as he rose to his feet, "but maybe HE can."
"HUAHUEHUA! Who? Who is this 'he' that can defeat ME?" Thanos mockingly asked. In response, a faint smile crossed Captain America's lips, as he pointed to the ocean. It was only as Thanos turned to face the water that he saw the purposeful grimace and heard the terrible sound of the lumbering behemoth that just arose from the water.
"SKREEEEEEEEEE-ONK!" screamed Godzilla, King of Monsters! Thanos, trembling in disbelief, could barely muster up the strength to scream his fearful response.
"N-NO! IT CAN'T BE! NOOOOOOOOOO!" the extraterrestrial warlord screamed, just before he felt the weight of the royal reptile's foot crashing down upon him. With Thanos seemingly defeated, Godzilla unleashed a victory roar, and turned to head back to the waters to slumber once more. However, as he was doing so, Thanos unexpectedly flew up into the air once more, readying his Infinity Gauntlet for an all-powerful deathblow.
"Now learn... learn what happens when you mess with the MOST POWERFUL BEING IN THE UNIVERSE!"screamed Thanos as he unleashed a powerful beam of energy from his gauntlet. Almost immediately in retaliation, Godzilla turned and unleashed a mighty beam of atomic energy from his jaws, flying towards Thanos and overpowering his attack. The last expression upon Thanos's face was one of utmost fear as he was completely and utterly atomized.
Leaving nothing but the Infinity Gauntlet in the wake of Thanos's demise, Godzilla equipped the cosmic artifact, and flew into space to right wrongs and stop evil across the universe, and he would do so until the final battle at the end of time, where he would defeat Galactus and become the core of the cosmic egg of a brand new universe.
