She liked the rain. Everyone seemed to think that she liked the sun. And she did, but the rain, the rain was so much better.

At the beginning it wasn't easy. Everything seems harder when the cold rain pours down on your back, when the storm gets rougher and rougher, and she found out that no matter how much her knowledge had surpassed all others, she found that when the storm came, she didn't have an umbrella. She wasn't prepared, she wasn't ready. But they were.

They each protected her, because they had their own umbrellas, because they would shield her from the storm.

So she followed them, she kept close. Because she didn't want to get wet, she didn't want to get hurt.

But she should have known that it wouldn't last, she should have known that when you run in the rain you slip. When you run in the rain you fall.

But the boy like the night was already gone, and the boy like the sun was going after him. And she was alone. In the cold, in the rain, because she wasn't prepared, because she wasn't ready.

She couldn't stay down, so she stood up, she kept going, but she didn't have an umbrella, so instead she walked through the rain, as the lightning struck, and the thunder crashed. And so she began to dance, because the rain felt good, because the rain made her forget.

She fell, over and over again, and over and over again she stood again, she danced alone in the rain. She couldn't help it, because this was where she belonged, in the chaos, in the cold, in the rain.

They came back, the boys with their umbrellas, they came back and tried to protect her, they tried to shield her from the rain. But she danced out of their reach, because she liked the rain now, and they couldn't keep her from it.

She didn't need them or their protection, because when she fell down she could pick herself up. So she kept her distance, as they chased after her with their umbrellas. So she kept dancing farther and farther away, because she didn't need them, any of them. They had left her alone in the storm, and now she was a part of it.

No matter how much they all assumed that she loved the sun, they could never take away the storm. She never told them, and they never asked. So when they came back, ready to protect her, ready to help, she danced away. Sakura wouldn't let them help her, because when she fell down, she wanted to pick herself up again. So she kept dancing away from them, because the rain didn't stop, and neither did she.

She hadn't been prepared, she hadn't been ready. Not like them. Never like them. But she didn't mind, because she liked the rain now, thanks to them. They each had their own umbrellas, because she had needed to be protected. But, not so much anymore, not so much since they left her behind.

She had kept close to them, trying to keep dry, trying to not get hurt, but she fell. And so she began to dance.

Because Sakura Haruno liked the rain.
