Heart and Soul
Part 1 Beginnings
Preface: Life sucks and then you die.
Rhiannon paced back and forth across the floor waiting for her friend to finish getting ready for their game.
"Chad come on we're gonna be late!" she yelled through the closed door before leaning up against the wall behind her and slamming her head back into the wall. She fingered the end of her sleeve where the embroidery ran around the hem of her tunic. Finally the door slid open and a tall boy stepped through looking gangly in his outfit, she had to stifle a chuckle at how funny he looked in the medieval clothing.
"Alright I'm ready we going," he asked teasingly looking down at her in her where she had slid down on the floor the corners of his mouth turning up, "or are you just gonna sit there in my hallway all day?"
She quickly jumped up tripping on the hem of the long tunic she was wearing and gripping the wall to keep from falling on her face. "Good job Rhi... or wait I should say Maera since we are dressed in character," he bent his arm and swept down in the most mocking bow ever, "my Lady." His grin was so full of mischief she was beginning to regret agreeing to join him in his medieval world of make believe.
She simply rolled her eyes and said "alright buzzard brain, lets go" she straightened and started walking out the door.
"Hey wait up."

"Maera!" the tall boys voice rang through her ears as she fell over the edge of the make shift raft into the freezing cold water.
How exactly had it come to this? Well, firstly they were at the local park playing a Medieval set LARP game when the group had gotten the amazing idea to hold a lake battle with Viking boats, this would normally not have been a problem except that it was the middle of February and the lake was only just clearing of the ice that had been covering it the week before.
When they had gotten to the park the group had already been well into their game of capture and defend, so they had sat at the sidelines waiting for the next battle to commence
The girl slowly fought the water to get back to the surface but her heavy medieval costume clothes were heavy dry and now that they were soaked they were dragging her down farther. She tried kicking off her boots to help but she couldn't get the laces undone. She took one last look up and realized that she couldn't even see the bottom of the boat anymore and her vision was starting to black out from lack of oxygen. Great I'm gonna die down here and I'm not even twenty yet...
so thats done yeah it was kinda short but hey its a preface so its not actually a part of the story just an intro, I'll try to finish polishing up the first chapter this week!
P.S. reviews make me happy and when I'm happy i'm more inclined to update faster :D
