Person: Lavender Brown

Lavender Brown wasn't exactly the smartest girl, and she knew it too. She wasn't exactly the prettiest, nor the bravest, nor the funniest. She wasn't bad at any of these things, she just wasn't good at them.

Really, that had never really bothered her before. Not because she lacked ambition, or self pride, but because she reasoned that no one could be that amazing. After all, one would have to be perfect.

And there was no such thing as the perfect girl, right?

Wrong.

Enter Hermione Granger. Smart? Genius. Beautiful? Stunning. Brave? Yes. Funny? Hilarious.

Damn that girl.

Of course, on top of all of that, she was best friends with the two bravest and best looking boys of their house. Ronald Weasley, who Lavender had a secret crush on since first year, was as funny as he was charming, and brave to boot. Harry Potter was the famous one, always getting into trouble and saving the world, while managing his grades and Quidditch. And in between the two boys?

Hermione damn Granger.

But really, Lavender could deal with her if she was just a presence buzzing in the back of her ear. She could tolerate the girl's genius, admire the girl's looks, ooh and aww at the girl's bravery, and even laugh at the girl's jokes. But Hermione had finally gone too far.

This year had been a great one for Lavender. She'd finally – finally – gotten Ron to look at her, like her, and even date her. Squeal! He was all hers, to love and cherish and kiss and cuddle with. Right?

Wrong again.

Hermione had never cared a rat's ass, romantically, for either boy. They'd been friends, and that had been it. But now, now that Ron was hers, she went and started liking him!

Lavender seriously wished that that girl would be attacked by the Whomping Willow.

But that wasn't even the ultimate humiliation.

The ultimate humiliation was that her boyfriend liked the girl back.

Damn her perfection.
