The new school year started and all the new kids were hectic.

They were swarming round school with their over sized back packs and nervous faces. They

pushed passed the older kids and got on their nerves, although they did look scared of the soccer players.

Most of the soccer players had nearly finished their time at McKinley high school but they still had their final year left. This year would be their year for sure. With Finn as a captain and everyone playing at their best, they were surely going to win their league and every tournament.

As another new kid nudged Finn on his way by, Finn took a deep breath to stop him from going crazy and joined the circle of soccer players near the lockers.

"Hey guys... Ready for the first training session of this year tonight?" Finn smiled as he looked over the other players.

"Hey man!" Blaine bumped fists with Finn and smiled back, "I can't wait to get into it!"

As they spoke, the other boys looked up at their team captain and smiled, Sam and Mike were in deep conversation about something that Finn couldn't quite hear, Karofsky was placing a book in his locker and Puck looked curious.

"Um... I would be ready if we actually had a full team. Is everyone forgetting the guys that graduated last year?" Puck shrugged his shoulders and slipped his bag down to his feet as he stood waiting for a response.

Blaine looked down because he didn't really know what to say, he knew Puck was right and wondered what Finn would say.

"Well I'm sure we'll gain a bunch of new guys after a few training sessions and-"

Finn was stopped in his tracks by a hand clasping down on his shoulder and he was interrupted, "and you've got me to recruit you new members but right now you've got lessons to get to and the deal was, you do well in classes, you can play in matches."

"Coach Bieste!" A simultaneous shout of her name came from all the boys who smiled back at her.

"See you at training tonight." With that, the coach walked away and the bell rang. Finn had a job to do, he needed to act more of a captain and recruit players for the team before someone like Puck was chosen captain over him. As Finn swung his back pack over his shoulder and began walking to his first class of the day, he felt a delicate hand slide into his own, he looked down to his left and smiled as his girlfriend looked up at him, he kissed Rachel's head and started to walk with her, he'd missed her, even if they'd spent the whole holidays together.

Blaine sat down in his math lesson and unzipped his gym bag, underneath the soccer kit and boots were all the college brochures his Dad had been pressuring him into looking at, he couldn't leave them out in his room, that way his a Dad would know that he definitely hadn't been looking at them. Instead, he stored them in his bag with a load of other stuff he didn't want his family to see, such as; a letter offering him a trial for a team he'd never heard of, a leaflet on show choir and another leaflet that he'd sneakily picked up from Miss Pillsbury's office about battling with sexuality.

Blaine Anderson was the smallest member of the soccer team, but only by at least a centimetre. He had black loose curly hair that sprang as he run, just like it always had and he was a skilful midfielder. Even though his Dad got him into soccer from a young aged, it could be argued his Dad probably pressured him into it, he did actually enjoy the sport. He liked being part of a team but that was the only team in his Dad's eyes. Blaine loved music too, he performed every week on a field but he also wanted to perform on a stage one day. That's why he'd been looking into show choirs. The only thing was, Glee club practice clashed with soccer practice on most occasions, a part from Wednesday's but Blaine never told anyone of his ambition. And finally, his sexuality. His Dad never really said anything about Blaine's sexuality but then again, he'd had nothing to observe, Blaine had kissed a few girls at parties and held them, danced with them but that was a bit of a show, he didn't know where his head was at right now, for seventeen years old, he certainly felt like he had everything on his shoulders, but right now, this stupid math question topped that pile or prioritising.

As Kurt packed up his last box, he looked around his old room. He starred at where everything used to be and smiled, it had been nice and he sure would miss the memories of this house but right now, it was time to move on.

"You all packed?" Burt walked into the room and picked up Kurt's last box.

"Yup, I think I'm all done." Kurt looked away from the while and ma

de eye contact with his Dad. "I'm finally ready to go."

"Me too Bud, me too." And with that, Kurt turned his bedroom light off one last time and headed out to his Dad's car. He shut the boot as Burt locked up the house and the both got into the car at the same time.

Kurt sat back, took a breath and smiled at the house from the outside. All his memories were now locked up inside there. He'd lived there since the day he was born but now, the time had come to finally move. Burt had sat down one day with his teenage son and discussed leaving everything behind and moving on. It had been ten years now since Burt lost the love of his life and Kurt lost his Mom. It was definitely time that a fresh start begun, but it was okay because she would live on in both of their hearts.

Burt worried for his son moving from New York where his Mom had made a living on stage to Ohio. Kurt was an openly gay kid who's only interest was making it through high school without being killed. Sure he liked to sing a long to a few songs every now and again, he liked shopping and he'd also watch the odd soccer game with a his Dad, admittedly just because he liked watching the hot guys that came with the sport.

"So you're all ready to start this new school?" Burt asked.

Kurt looked down at his bags surrounding him, "as long as I make it through my first day tomorrow, I shouldn't be too bad. You never know, such a drastic change in my life could be good for me." Kurt smiled over at his old man, Burt was happy that they could both be a little optimistic even if they were both nervous. Right now, getting to the airport was the main focus.

5pm training started and Sam, Mike, Puck, Finn, Blaine and Karofsky all ran around the pitch to warm up. Coach Bieste threw out the sports bag full of soccer balls into the centre circle and called them all in once they had finished their fifth lap.

"Okay, all I want you to do today is use it as a warm up, we still need to find five more players before we can even think of starting to compete. Use this time to think on who we can get in." Coach Bieste gave her order and was just about to let the boys start when Puck stepped forward.

"I have us a seventh member." Puck looked smug with his arms folded. "He wouldn't cause you any problems because he knows I'll kick his ass and I can train him up for free." Puck signalled for a guy who was shorter than himself but still taller than Blaine to come over. "Meet my brother, Jake. He's new here." Puck smiled and clasped a hand on his younger brothers shoulder but squeezing it tight to warn him without even speaking.

"Well hello mini Puck, show us what you've got! And well done to Noah for showing you have got initiative. I need more of you to think like this! Let's go!" The coach clapped her hands together for the training to begin and all the boys ran out onto the field, Finn being the last of course because he realised that Puck had made another move on becoming captain. Finn did eventually join in and it turned out that Jake was pretty good, or mini Puck as Coach Bieste had nicknamed him for now.

As training ended, all the boys got changed, showered and headed home, Finn being the last to leave the changing rooms as his responsibility was to make sure it was tidy. There was the odd sock and pair of shorts knocking around but Finn was too tired to care. He walked past the storage room door and flung his gym bag over his shoulder, he flicked all the light switches off before he was about to leave but as soon as his fingers hit the switch, he heard a cling and a bang from the storage room, he turned the light back on curiously and creeped back to the door, "hello?"

He turned the handle slowly and pushed the door open to see two male second years, one with no shirt on but an amazing body pressed up against the wall and the other looking a little too shocked who quickly removed his hand from the other boys waist.

"What are you two doing here?" Finn asked, even if he secretly knew exactly what was going on.

The more shocked boy out of the two just made noises and muttered, obviously too shocked to keep it together, the more confident boy out of the two removed his back from the wall and stood up straight.

"We were just talking."

Finn smiled, "oh really? Cause that ones not been used before, only it's usually a guy and a girl he's cheating with but this time it's two guys."

Neither of the second years said a word, they just looked up to Finn and wondered what was going to happen next.

Finn didn't really know either, he just found the whole situation humorous. Then it clicked! He could use this whole situation to his advantage.

"Okay.. I have an idea." Finn smirked.

The more shocked teen looked even more terrified than he did at first.

"You two join the soccer team and I won't tell a soul about what I just saw, I'll even cover for you when you need to use this room to do... Whatever. Sound like a deal?" Finn held his arms out and his expression turned to a "huh?"

The two boys looked at each other but didn't speak, the more confident out of the two looked back at Finn and shrugged, "I'm in."

The other boy looked around the room but eventually met Finn's eyes, "um, I don't know... I wanted to join the glee club.."

The other boy just smirked and let out a giggle, "if you wanna carry on with us I suggest you say yes."

"Okay, fine." The boy folded his arms not looking to impressed.

"Okay then! Get a shirt on and get out of here then I'll see you at training on Wednesday lunch time."

They all nodded quite awkwardly and Finn left the changing rooms.

Blaine got home and went straight to his room, he threw himself back on his bed and pulled out his phone, he looked through his twitter and his emails at all the soccer related stuff, tweets from teams, tweets he was just mentioned in and emails from camps offering him the chance to go and look around. Instead of paying attention, he plugged his phone in until it beeped to signal it was charging, took off his shirt and practically fell asleep. His problems would have to wait until tomorrow.

As the school bell rung for first lesson, Blaine swapped folders from his locker and swung his bag over his shoulder, as he slammed his locker shut and started to head down the busy corridor ahead of him, he noticed there was no one at the other end of the corridor near the entrance of the school, he decided to take that way, even though it was the long way round, he just didn't fancy bumping into a load of girls he'd hung out with at a party the week before and he actually needed to try and make an effort to be at his literature lesson on time today. As he walked past the entrance, he slipped his phone into his pocket, looked back up and saw a guy dressed in maroon skinny jeans, a dark grey shirt with a black pattern, a black belt and extremely neat hair which was styled to perfection, he looked a little out of breath, his shoulder bag was open like he hadn't had the time to close it and his cheeks were a little pink, he was out of breath and looked lost. Completely lost.

"Excuse me? Can I help you." Blaine smiled.

The boys eyes glanced over to Blaine and he looked a little shocked.

Kurt was wondering if this guy was actually talking to him. He looked behind himself to check he wasn't about to be embarrassed by answering someone who wasn't even talking to him but turned back to the curly haired teen standing I front of him, "um... Yes. I'm Kurt. I just started today and I have a literature class now, I have no idea where I'm going." Kurt looked down into his bag for his timetable as he felt the boy edging closer to him.

"You do know school term started yesterday, right?" Blaine smirked.

Kurt looked up after pulling his timetable from his bag, "yes, I know but I've just moved and my flight meant I only got here today... Could you help me please?" Kurt passed the boy his timetable and he closely observed Tuesdays lessons. He then passed it him back and begun walking signalling him to follow.

"You're in the same class as me, come on.. Kurt." Blaine looked back to check he'd gotten the name right and Kurt nodded as he knew what that look meant.

They took the steps and it was quiet for a minute, "oh, my names Blaine by the way."

"Well hi Blaine by the way." Kurt smiled but wondered whether his sense of humour would be way different to the obviously sporty guy in front of him.

Surprisingly, the teen laughed and looked back at Kurt, "funny. You don't happen to be a soccer player do you?"

Kurt laughed. "I watched soccer a few times... Does that count?" Kurt asked as they reached the top of the steps.

"Well can you play?" Blaine was totally serious even if Kurt wasn't.

"No... Look at me. I- no, no I don't." Kurt shook his head and walked through the door which Blaine held open for him. "Thank you. Why did you ask that though? Or is that how you great everyone?"

As Blaine followed Kurt through the door and took the lead again, meh answered after controlling his smile, "no it's just that as you can tell, I'm on the soccer team and we need a few more players this year, I just wanna get as many members as I can for extra credit." Blaine turned to the corridor of their lesson and slowed down as he realised none of his class mates had gone in yet.

"Oh, well, unfortunately I don't play, I could keep an eye out though and tell anyone who's looking to play to come to you." Kurt thought that being helpful would be the best way to make friends.

Blaine smiled over at Kurt, "that'd be nice, thank you." The smile went on for a little too long but Blaine finally broke it, "this is our lesson," he pointed in the direction of the room, "you go first."

Kurt had actually spoken to someone on his first day at a new school and it wasn't him standing up for himself to someone calling him. He liked this place so far.

After his first day, he'd met, Blaine, a nice guy he was all ready helping out with soccer scouting, Brittany, who he'd help colour her name in on her work and Sam who had been sat on YouTube searching the celebrities that Kurt would suggest and tried to copy the accents.

As he walked out of school with a smile on his face, he felt himself get shoved a little to his left, when he looked to his right to see who had bumped into him, Blaine looked back at him, "oh! Sorry Hummel!" Blaine got his balance back and started walking with Kurt.

"You referenced me by my last name? How do you know that?" Kurt looked confused but continued to walk.

"You gave me your timetable remember! When I like someone, their name sticks with me." Blaine gripped his bag strap a little tighter as he realised how forward that actually was.

Kurt smiled and looked down as he stepped up the sidewalk and looked to Blaine, "you had to check that you got the right name earlier!" He laughed.

"Yeah but since then it's just stuck with me, "Blaine looked around, "where are you heading anyway?"

"Home... I live two streets away so I'm walking." Kurt smiled, "and you?"

"Well I live three streets away so me too. Mind if I walk with you?" Blaine followed Kurt anyway.

"Not at all."

Cheerleading practice had just started with a load of girls auditioning for Sue Sylvester.

"Next!" She yelled as Santana, Brittany, Becky and Quinn all sat at her side while writing down names and ticking yes or crossing no under Sue's instructions.

So far, Sugar, Marley, Madison and Tina were the only girls with a yes and Santana had a feeling these were the only girls they would gain to the squad this year.

As she was just about to sneak away, one last girl took to the floor, she looked up and laughed straight away. "Rachel Berry?" She looked to the rest of the girls, "really?"

After no response from anyone apart from her own laughter, Rachel smiled, "hi, I'm Rachel Berry and I'll be trying out for the Cheerios as my NYADA application requires me to be a part of as many extra curricular activities as possible."

"Get on with it Barbara." Sue ordered.

As Rachel gave what was possibly the most horrendous routine ever seen since Finn tried out, Santana all ready started scribbling a cross.

As she finished and stood up with a smile, Sue paused for a minute. "See you at rehearsal on Thursday. NEXT!"

Santana dropped the pen and her jaw dropped with it. "What just happened?!"

"Don't worry, I've not hired her because she's good, anyone can see that was as bad as her boyfriends try out, I've hired her because I'm going to make her life a living hell and get her more prepared for New York than Will Schuester ever could." Sue smiled smugly and looked down to a now smiling Santana.

After try outs were done, Santana grabbed Brittany's bags and walked her home giving her a quick kiss on her driveway which turned into making out in her bedroom. Santana was happy with how things went today and the way they were going now.

Blaine stopped just as Kurt stopped outside his house. "So yeah... This is my new place." Kurt gestured to the house.

"And you just live with your Dad?" Blaine asked.

"Yeah... It's a long story I'd rather not get into right now." Kurt half smiled.

"Oh it's okay, don't worry. Okay so I'll see you tomorrow at school entrance again when I'm taking you to another lesson... Math I think your first one is." Blaine smiled.

"Wow are you stalking me?" Kurt laughed.

"Maybe! See you later Kurt." And with that, the two boys waved goodbye and Kurt went into his house.

He locked the door behind him and wiped his feet, he walked into the front room were Burt was attempting to move furniture on his own. Kurt dropped his bag down and ran over.

"Dad! I told you to leave all of this until I came home so I could help you! I didn't want you doing this alone." Kurt picked up the other side of the chair and helped his dad get it into position.

"Oh hi to you too, how was your first day at school?" Burt asked.

"It was good, I enjoyed it, people are nice for once." Kurt let go of the chair as did his Dad and then made his old man sit down for a rest.

"So you think you'll be happy here?" Burt asked.

"Yes.. Yes I do." Kurt smiled widely.

Blaine walked in his house with an actual smile on his face. The first actual smile he'd worn on his face since he scored a goal in his final last year.

The best thing was, this wasn't actually about soccer. It was because of Kurt. He'd actually made a friendship outside of soccer for once that he could escape in, he didn't constantly have to talk about what position he played or who he's played for, he could just be himself, goof around and have a laugh. He'd not done that in a while. He was happy he'd gained a friend.

One thing that kept playing on Blaine's mind though was how he was being so open with Kurt, like responding with "maybe" when Kurt joked about stalking him... Why would he do that?

All he knew right now was that he was on Facebook searching Kurt Hummel in the search bar and looking for the brunette teen.

Blaine was happy because he'd taken Kurt to math today and they'd joked about shitty things that no one ever needs in life again after high school math. However that was this morning and now it was 12:30pm and soccer practice. As he ran onto the field to catch up with his team mates, Coach Bieste shouted the team in to the middle.

"Okay, today I've made a move and I've been working hard to get this team back up to the standards we had last year, next week, you'll have an English soccer player joining you called Adam who's a transfer and he requested coming here. Be nice and play fair when he gets here. Next up, speaking of transfers, I've recruited you a new water boy who will wash your kits too, help me set up and tidy up and be my assistant."

All the boys looked around as Coach Bieste pointed over to a boy wearing a red McKinley gym shirt, black shorts and sneakers which obviously weren't his. This was especially obvious to Blaine as he was starring at someone he knew.

"This is Kurt Hummel." Coach Bieste threw a soccer ball in his direction so he could put it near the cones he was half way through setting up. He smiled back and waved then continued. "Do not abuse him, he's there to do you a favour." She warned.

As all the boys looked back at their coach, Blaine couldn't help but watch Kurt try to work out what he was doing. He found it funny.

Blaine wasn't really paying much attention to what his team mates were saying but as soon as Finn started to speak, he turned back round.

"Oh and I've found us two new members!" Finn shouted as he gestured the two boys he found making out over to the team. "This is Mason and Spencer." They both smiled and once again, the situation was awkward.

After training had finished, the team made their way inside and Blaine made it look like he was busy until everyone had left so he could make his way over to Kurt and help him pack things up.

Kurt could feel someone stood over him as he colour coordinated the cones, he looked up and smiled then stood up so he could see what Blaine wanted, "can I help you?"

"No, but I can help you... I'll help tidy all this." He looked around.

"You don't have to do that, you have a home to get to." Kurt continued bagging things up.

"And so do you! Two people on the job is better than one." Blaine smugly said as he kicked all the soccer balls into a bag.

"Fine, thank you." Kurt didn't look at Blaine, he just shouted over as he dragged all the equipment away.

"So... How did you end up with this job anyway?" Blaine asked curiously as he followed Kurt.

"I just got asked because I'm a new kid, I guess they wanna get me involved in as much as possible to make friends an all." Kurt shrug as he placed his final bag of cones into the area they needed to be. Blaine put away the soccer balls and then he walked back with Kurt to the changing rooms.

"That's pretty cool though, we'll get to hang out more I guess." Blaine said as they walked to the changing room doors to find an empty room apart from both of their bags and clothes.

"I guess so." Kurt glanced over at the laundry basket which was now full... Why did he agree to this again?

"And you'll need to get soccer boots and an actual kit so you look like part of the team." Blaine smirked as he observed the teens movements.

"I'll think about it." Kurt said as he wheeled the basket over to the wash room.

Before Kurt went into the wash room, Blaine walked over and stopped him, "so did you get my Facebook request last night?" Blaine smiled.

Kurt laughed a little, "oh yeah, that confirmed that you are actually stalking me."

Blaine smiled wide, "yup! Confirmed it for me too!" Blaine winked and walked away. "You go wash them, I'll get changed then I'll walk you home."

"Okay then, thank you for helping me!" Kurt shouted as he got further away from Blaine.

"No problem." Blaine shouted back before turning to his clothes and smiling thinking about how he could give Kurt his old kit and boots and how it was cool Kurt didn't have a clue about soccer but had gotten this job and how it was cool that even though Kurt was involved in the soccer team now, he still had an awesome new friend. He liked Kurt.

Little did both guys know how serious the two second years were going for it again in the storage room.
