A/N: So this takes place sometime during s3. It's not particularly long because I only took a day or so to write it, but nonetheless I hope you still enjoy!
Eddie's breath clouded in front of him as it escaped into the sharp autumn air. The cold crept through the layers of his jacket and sucked every bit of warmth out of his bones. KT followed close behind him, her hands buried deep into the pockets of her coat in an effort to shield them from the wind. Little was said as they trudged down the beaten path towards Anubis House. They had been out investigating all day, and exhaustion was starting to overcome them. But the mystery was just starting to take shape, meaning their skulking had only just begun.
"We have to go back tomorrow, Eddie. Maybe then we'll actually try to make it in before curfew." Her lips had curved upwards into a teasing grin, though what she said wasn't far from the truth.
Looking down at his watch, Eddie cringed as he read the time: 10:05. Victor wouldn't have realized they were missing yet, but sneaking inside unnoticed would be a challenge. Eddie's palm settled on the doorknob of Anubis House, but he made no move to turn it. He glanced over at KT who gave him a reassuring look, which was his cue to go on. He turned the knob slightly. The door swung open with a soft creak, muffled by the shuffling footsteps of those still getting ready upstairs.
"Nice of you two to finally show up." Eddie squeezed his eyes shut with frustration at the sound of her voice.
Patricia emerged from the kitchen shortly after, leaning against the doorframe with a scowl across her lips. Her eyes quickly flickered between Eddie and KT, and then fixed Eddie with a stare.
"'Night, Eddie." KT mumbled. She shot him an apologetic look before scurrying up the stairs and away from the scene that was set to take place below.
"Patricia, I know that you're mad but –"
"I never said that, doofus. Now just shut up and get to your room before Victor sees you." She smirked at Eddie's flustered expression then turned to make her way towards the stairs.
"Wait," he called up after her, "you aren't going to tell him?" He couldn't keep the optimism out of his voice.
Patricia rolled her eyes at this, but turned around to face him nonetheless.
"I don't rat people out, slimeball. I thought you would've learned that by now." She continued to her room without another word or glance back in his direction.
Eddie looked admiringly at his girlfriend as she walked away. Sure, there was still a lot to work out between them, and just because she wasn't going to tell Victor didn't mean he had escaped her fury yet, but everything would turn out fine in the end.
He would make sure of it.
A/N: Yeah so this one is a little fluffier than my other fics, but I though it was kind of cute so I'm hoping you did too :3 Thanks for reading and remember to review!
