hi
I OWN NOTHING
Riza Hawkeye does not believe in true love.
"Does not" because she did, once, believe in it.
She believed in true love just like she believed in his naive dream of a better world. The difference now is that she still believes in those dreams of his, but has given up the idea of ever finding true love some time along the way.
As a young teenager, she would read books where the strong, handsome hero would rescue the young, beautiful damsel in distress. At some point, she even wondered, one day, if she too would have a handsome young man come and rescue her from this crippling old house. But she has never considered herself as a damsel in distress.
Does it always have to include a damsel in distress?
Once, she asked his theory about true love. He laughed and said that he found it completely absurd.
She never asked him again. (When she was mad at him, she assumed he couldn't believe in true love because he already loved himself enough for two)
(she still does)
(she also used to think she loved him, that he was her true love, and that following him in the army was the right decision)
(she hadn't realized it was so much more than that)
Nowadays, she's been wondering more and more why the feeling had been labelled "true love".
She doesn't understand why there is "true" in front of "love".
True means real. Real is genuine. Authentic. Actual. Not-Imaginary. There is not fake love. Same as there is no true love.
So yes, there is no true love. There is only love.
And Riza Hawkeye wants to believe in that
