Detectives
"Dammit Misa stop trying to be adorable and get over here!" L's voice echoed through the building causing Light to finally crawl out of bed. He quickly slid a black shirt over his head and flattened his hair. He slipped on his pair of monster feet slippers that Misa had bought him for Christmas.
"What do you mean trying?" Misa's voice screeched. Light winced at the sound as he shuffled down the stairs to the sight of L staring at the large screen in front of him in his usual manner. Misa was sat leaning over the back of one of the sofas tucked away to the side of the room. She bounded unto Light as soon as she saw him. "Light you think I'm adorable don't you?" her eyes reminded Light of a lost puppy. He however had only had three hours of sleep due to his overactive mind therefore he had a sudden urge to write the puppy's name in a certain book of his. At this point he looked around suspiciously finally noticing the absence of two creatures of a supernatural species.
"Ah Light," L said spinning on his chair to face him. His face that was usually White looked slightly more colourful making Light instantly suspicious. "I made breakfast..." L waved his hand at a tray that lay in front of his chair. Light, feeling hungry, shuffled over and picked up a slice of toast. He quickly noticed something was wrong when he saw a large amount of jam on the bowl of cereal and the milk and sugar over the toast,
"Erm I actually don't feel very well..." Light lied. He turned to leave when L suddenly turned with a large smile on his face.
"Well you'd better hurry and get ready quickly... Today you get to meet Beyond!" Light froze and turned to face the detective who seemed greatly more happy than usual.
"You mean the crazy serial killer who you put in prison?"
"The exact one..."
"And we're doing this because..."
"He could prove useful in our investigation."
"Of course he could..." Light said suspecting L was a little too excited to see him purely for the case. He instead shuffled upstairs and got dressed. He chose a pair of comfy blue jeans, a black shirt and seeing as it was the middle of winter he decided to put on an old grey jumper that he had been given years before. He had never really liked the jumper but found it useful on icy winter mornings when L was always dragging him out to follow a Kira suspect or just to do tedious errands like fetch coffee which he could just as easily have prepared for him. Light made his way downstairs and saw the whole of the task force ready with large coats, guns and a radio each. "Is this a visit or a breakout?" Light asked jokingly as L appeared from the group.
