A/N: Hello everyone! This is a songfic for RussLiet. The song is "Gomenasai" by t.A.T.u. And I'd like to thank my Vanya for inspiring this for me~

"What I thought wasn't mine, in the light, wasn't one of a kind, a precious pearl. When I wanted to cry, I couldn't 'cause I wasn't allowed."

Ivan took several steps backwards, his eyes widening in horror. Unable to believe what he had just done, he lifted his bloodied hands up to his face, staring in shock. The Russian dropped the whip that was in his right hand, and slumped down against the damp wall of the basement. Though the initial shock had worn off a little, the large nation still couldn't believe the entirety of the situation.

"Gomenasai for everything. Gomenasai, I know I let you down. Gomenasai 'till the end. I never needed a friend like I do now."

On the other side of the room, Toris lay chained to the wall. Bloodied lines criss-crossed the Lithuanian's back, both old and new scars bleeding out. Never before had he have to endure a beating as bad as this. The Baltic nation struggled to keep consciousness, as he was losing lots of blood. After a moment, nothing more came from him and he slumped against the wall opposite of Ivan, hanging only by his wrists now.

"What I thought wasn't all so innocent, was a delicate doll of porcelain. When I wanted to call you and ask for help, I stopped myself."

Seeing his love fall, a small gasp left Ivan's lips. Quickly, he stood up and moved over towards the Lithuanian. Though the Russian felt that he had already done enough damage, and did not wish to cause any more, he also did not want the love of his life to die. Gently, he unchained the other nation from the shackles, picking up and carrying him upstairs, being mindful of Toris' wounds.

"Gomenasai for everything. Gomenasai, I know I let you down. Gomenasai 'till the end. I never needed a friend like I do now."

Toris felt nothing as Ivan carried him up the stairs and to their bedroom. By that point, he had given up in his struggle and had slipped unconscious. The entire way up to the bedroom from the basement, the Lithuanian's body was weak and limp, barely showing any signs of life. It was evident that if he didn't receive medical attention soon, he would die.

"What I thought was a dream, a mirage, was as real as it seemed, a privilege. When I wanted to tell you I made a mistake, I walked away."

As Ivan sat Toris down on the soft bed, back side up, he began to panic a little. What would he do if his love died? He would be reduced to nothing, and it was all his fault. Once again, he had managed to turn a beautiful day into a disastrous one. It wasn't his fault, his dark phases. Usually, he had no recollection of what he did while in said phases, but this time, the Russian remembered it all to perfectly. A few tears escaped his clenched shut eyes and he pleaded and prayed that his love would pull through and be ok.

"Gomenasai for everything. Gomenasai, Gomenasai, Gomenasai. I never needed a friend like I do now. Gomenasai, I let you down. Gomenasai, Gomenasai. Gomenasai 'till the end. I never needed a friend like I do now."
