Aneko: First attempt at The World Ends With You. It's a fic about Neku, Shiki, Beat and Rhyme. I would say Joshua, but it's based off the ending clip, when you see them meeting,
Disclaimer: I don't own this video game.
Rebirth
It was kind of like being born again, in a sense, coming back into this living, breathing world. People held ordinary lives, laughed, cried, got mad, and didn't ever think about things like the UG or erasure. It was refreshing and new.
And it was different, but then, how could it not be, after so much had changed? The streets had more color, the crowds were more lively. They were all realizing what a gift life was, what a treasure. They put behind jealousy, dislike, and become new people
It was a little difficult, coming back, like trying to piece together jigsaw pieces that don't match. Or like dancing a waltz and accidentally stepping on your partner's shoes all the time. They were awkward, and trying their best to glue everything back together again. It's still not perfect yet, but they're working on it. It gets a little easier every day. Friends reuniting, unkind things that were said forgiven, learning to understand…everything. Everything that was insignificant before—friends, trust, forgiveness, listening, understanding.
It also felt a bit like saying goodbye to an old acquaintance. They were never fond of the ordeal they went through, of course. It was a nightmare that they readily would put behind them. But the time they spent had made them grow used to those days of fighting and running and obeying things they didn't understand. In a way, they could look back on it now with a feeling of nostalgia, the way they had all met. And on some days, one of them would get this far-off look, and they all knew those looks. Knew the thoughts of those days, and they would reminisce, quietly to themselves, before going on as if nothing had happened.
They'll never really be able to leave it behind entirely. It will still be there as they move on to different lives, like an old shed skin. Not menacing, just…there. But right now, it's a little too fresh a memory to think about yet.
So they enter the world of the living again, as bright and imposing as it is, to a rebirth.
Aneko: Sorry if it's not interesting or doesn't make sense. It is currently one A.M, and I think I need some sleep…
